Invasion XXI Lineup: Presenting Kim van der Horst

Kim is a Dutch freefly coach, load organizer and record/event organizer, aka professional cat herder, who started her journey in the sport in 2002.

She’s been active in the world record scene since 2013, and had the privilege of breaking a few of her own records. So she knows a thing or two about getting a lot of people to fly in the same direction without anyone bumping into each other. Mostly.

Passionate about freefly routines that bridge the gap between dynamic and vertical, Kim is the initiator of the DVS8 Competition at Clymb Abu Dhabi and captain of the European DVS8 team (2026). Outdoors, she has organized and coached multiple Dutch, Benelux and women’s head-down and sequential records. She was also the Benelux regional captain for Project 19 and is a regional captain for the Euro HD Record 2027.

What Kim enjoys most is coaching group flying; thinking up creative routines, bringing a bunch of individuals together, helping everyone find their strength, and watching them turn into an actual team. The flying is great, but seeing that transformation happen is what really gets her excited.

Recently Kim started challenging herself to keep her plants alive, which turns out to be harder than managing large groups of skydivers.

In her professional life, she runs the estate of Dutch painter Constant Nieuwenhuys [1920-2005].

The one with the goat
The one where Sam (the van) broke down... AGAIN
The one with all the purple
The one where I sinfully listened to one Bon Jovi CD on repeat all month long
The one with all the sunflowers
The one where I watched so many Friends episodes

Whether you want to get better at sequentials, push yourself in team flying, select or train for the DVS8 competition or find out what this “sequentials” hype is all about, you’ve come to the right place. No big words and promises, just consistent hard work, creativity and the passion to show up even when it’s hard.

These camps break down the different sequentials moves to teach flyers to fly every slot and then put the newly gained knowledge into practice in different routines. In the second part of the workshop we focus on formation awareness, team work and flow.

What?
• 1,5-2hrs of flying [Depending on your level and the camp]
• Day 1: break down different building blocks of sequential flying and practice flying different the slots.
• Day 2-3: focus on building a routine.

Registration Fee
Between €480/€630 depending on the tunnel, the size of the group and the level.
