April + May Sketchbook Dump! Lots of my friends are in here 🖤 Descriptions from beginning to end: 1️⃣ cover stickers from @jonimoore and @uglybooksofficial 2️⃣ a real sign I actually saw downtown bham on the corner of 24th and 2nd 3️⃣ photos I took at the Huntsville botanical gardens from my brothers wedding 2 years ago. 4️⃣ doodle page with @andrewonajetski + @drawnby_sam + @nancyboy_ 5️⃣ testing out new traditional gouach and drawing materials 6️⃣ found out from testing out materials that black and white colored pencil layered over each other with two different images looks really cool 7️⃣ this starts the collages that i made at @andrewonajetski bday gathering. This one is about me and Bunny (my cat and bestie) 8️⃣ brain child of me and @fieldsofjess and also collared on the details with @andrewonajetski 9️⃣ extras that were too good not to glue down 1️⃣0️⃣ my going away party coworkers masterpiece. I think this was @kaveryart 1️⃣1️⃣ this is the start of @nancyboy_ sketchbook book camp class I went to. First prompt was to scribble and then turn it into something. 1️⃣2️⃣This page was pulling random words from a bag and combining them! I got cold, frog, flower, book! I’m slightly disturbed by my drawing style in this tbh. 1️⃣3️⃣ more word combos and also … 1️⃣4️⃣ exquisite corpse doodle game! I’m actually not in this one that I took home lol. 1️⃣5️⃣ what’s in front of me, and what’s at work in front of me. 1️⃣6️⃣ doodle game with my love @lindenarden9 1️⃣7️⃣ doodling at Sun Ra at Saturn! Incredible. 1️⃣8️⃣ originally testing out markers before I even started the sketchbook but then made it into something and a Nancy doodled tattooed on top of it 1️⃣9️⃣ @nancyboy_ sticker!

First post of the year and I’d like to say, yes, we’re a retail store, we need to selling things, but at the end of the day, what’s important to us in helping you create, and guiding you on your art adventures to the best of our ability. Love you!

Even more makers that will be set up tomorrow night! Hunter Coward A hobby potter who loves making functional pieces. My hope is that you’ll love and use your purchase so much that it eventually gets accidentally dropped and you track me down to buy its replacement. Beth’s Pottery I started making functional pottery a year and a half ago and enjoy experimenting with textures and glazes. Proud maker of coffee pour-overs 😉 Kaitlyn Avery Art @kaveryart Kaitlyn Avery is a Birmingham local artist who specializes in a wide range of mediums. Her studies at UAB focused on figure painting and drawing, taking inspiration from artists like Frida Kahlo and Lucien Freud. Though after graduating and receiving her BFA, Avery became more interested in gallery work and art conservation. She currently works as a framer, continuing to expand her knowledge of art and the many ways an artist can bring a vision to life. Not only can you find paintings among her current work, but also book binding, mixed media and sculpture. Calabunga Pottery @calabungapottery Calabunga Pottery, made by Calli Robinson Ernst, seeks to pair functionality with self-expression. Many of her works feature earth tones and self-dug Birmingham clay. Other pieces take inspiration from album covers, tennis courts, and holiday nostalgia. Lauren Beagle Art @laurenbeagleart Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Lauren Beagle has decided that Birmingham is the place to be to develop as a young artist. She does not have a specific medium in which she creates but rather has an interest in all forms of art creation. She is working to develop an extensive and diverse portfolio exploring themes of femininity and spirituality within the southern landscape. *she also teaches how to make bad art here in the studio!
