Cultural practices can be intentionally preserved even though no longer practiced! ILA: The lines of Beauty and Identity exhibition is not simply another photography exhibition. It is an exhibition that aims at bringing into reflection, celebration and remembrance of a practice of the Yoruba people as a means of lineage tracking and physical beauty!

In separate letters signed by the President of MCAAUIL, Dr Abdulgaffar Arikewuyo, and General Secretary, Dr. Aderemi Adeagbo, presented to the new professors at a gathering held at the Department’s Board Room last Wednesday (February 26, 2025), the Association appreciated the remarkable contributions of the scholars to the academia and their mentorship of students over the years.

I have had the privilege of volunteering for @tgainitiative since 2017. My journey with this remarkable organization began when I attended a TED Talk at the University of Ibadan during my postgraduate studies.

There, I was captivated by the presentation of a remarkable woman who used storytelling to raise funds for rural communities in need of basic amenities, such as a reliable water source. After the talk, I approached her, expressing my desire to join her organization. She informed me that they only had volunteer positions available, and without hesitation, I agreed to volunteer.

Under her leadership, the organization has made tremendous strides. Her unwavering tenacity has been the driving force behind our progress. Even when our commitment wavered, she remained steadfast, pushing us forward. @kaycube0207 has been a role model to me for the past seven years.

Today, as she celebrates her birthday, I invite you to join me in honoring this incredible woman.

Wishing her a long life filled with good health and prosperity.
