🖤 Mental Health Matters 🖤

I know I’m late to this, but May is mental health awareness month. This past year has been extremely hard for me, especially the past 6 months. My mental health was the lowest it has ever been and it became incredibly scary.

After working in mental health for the past 10 years, I have finally started to put myself first. It has always been easier to support others and put myself on the back burner. Everyone has been right, you can’t care for others unless you are taking care of yourself. I am doing right for the people I serve, by caring for myself.

I have spent several months feeling like a bad provider, a bad friend, a bad partner, a bad daughter and sibling. I am so thankful for the support I have had from my providers, family, and friends. It has been a really, really rough ride, but everyone has stuck by me and no one will ever truly know how grateful I am for that.

Please remember to tell the people in your life that you love them.

If you ever need help, there is support out there and there is no shame in asking🖤

Here are just a few moments over the past several months that I truly appreciate. There are so many more but I can only fit so many.

🤙🏽A SEPTEMBER TO REMEMBER!

Got to visit the Kelleys on their annual beach trip to TopSail NC! Had so much fun diggin, chillin, and even almost getting swallowed by the ocean😅 (thanks again for saving us @zombotronic ) always lovely getting sometime with my second fam💚

Also took a quick NOVA trip to spend time with some chums :) played board games, drank amazing brews, ran into SO MANY FACES I HADNT SEEN IN SO LONG! Always beautiful to know i will always have peoples there💚

Got to finally get tattooed by my good buddy @catscornertattoo shes an amazing artist and an even better human being!

Can you believe it’s been a year? An entire year of smiling every time I call you my husband or hearing the word “wife” come from those lips I love to kiss.

The entire week was absolute chaos and I was even late to my own freaking wedding, (because obviously) but as soon as I saw you standing there waiting for me, all of it faded, and it was only you I could see.

We waited so long to do this and I’m not even sure why but this was meant to be. This perfect moment underneath the setting sun, with the ocean echoing our love with its fierce and forever crashing waves and offering its salty and sweet air to encompass our union, was meant to be. Thank you for waiting with me.

Happy Anniversary, to you, my HUSBAND, and my EVERYTHING.
