When I was in elementary school, I saw some mind twisting pictures of Yosemite at a scholastic book fair. decided that I’m making shit happen to go see the iconic Half Dome, El Capitan, and stellar Sierra Nevada views. One by one some of my fav humans from all over the US decided to tag along. Initial planning was a bit stressful.. trying to figure out wilderness permits for a larger group/navigating covid restrictions/California is on fire/making sure that everyone can get the experience they wanted out of the trip, etc. Cook & Alex decided on a meet up spot — Buckeyes, near the east entrance to Yosemite. And holy beautiful! Some strangers gave us some tea candles to set up around our geothermal jacuzzi and it was so damn moody. My worries were all melting away soakin on a chilly night under starry skies. I made it!!!! (If you don’t know me, I romanticize every single event in my life lol my brain just works that way. Are there people that look back on a memory like this and just shrug their shoulders idk)

Yosemite Chronicles 2 — Granite & Gaylor Lakes @ 10,440’ in elevation. The lakes were tucked into rolling meadows~~ We found the perfect rock to catch tans + jump into the crystal clear, alpine water. (I’m running in place to warm the body up. It didn’t help. Don’t judge Alex’s hesitancy, the water was so cold it genuinely shocks you lol) Once the sun drops in Yosemite, the temp drops just as fast. We set up camp at a backpackers campsite, got a lil tipsy, + played cards til we were the last ones up.

Here are some low quality bad lighting pictures that make me so happy. You all are kind, wholesome, smart, funny, adventurous, and successful. I’m crazy grateful to be able to be a part of your lives. Thank you for making this weekend incredibly special.
