Why does time go by so fast?

It’s killing me that it’s all over, but that’s just a part of growing up. To all of my teammates, coaches, friends, and family, thank you for making these past 6 years of my life so special. Cross country and the people surrounding the sport are one of the biggest reasons why i am who i am today. It felt impossible for me to put my entire cross country journey into just a couple of pictures, so here it is in video form.

The people I’m going to miss the most are my teammates. I want every single person who has ever run with me to know that you have changed my life for the better. I have learned so many things about myself and the person I want to continue to be in life. So even though I don’t remember every practice, race, or workout, I will always remember the people who were by my side through it all.

After doing this sport for so many years, it’s going to feel so weird to suddenly stop and not see the people I normally see every single day. You are my second family, and I hope you know how much I love you all.

Throughout these six years, I’ve felt just about every emotion imaginable. I’ve experienced happiness, excitement, frustration, disappointment, pride, heartbreak, and everything in between. There have been moments where I wanted to give up and quit and moments I wish I could relive a thousand times. But through every high and low, I kept coming back and that says a lot about the amount of perseverance this sport has taught me.

I wish I could go back and tell my younger self to slow down and appreciate it all a little more, because all of the practices, the races, the people, and the moments that seemed like no big deal at the time would become the memories I’d give anything to get back.

I’m so grateful I got to be a part of something that gave me so much, and i’m so sad that I have to say goodbye to it. I know there are so many beautiful things waiting for me, but a part of me will always wish I could stay here just a little while longer.

Thank you, cross country, for everything you’ve given me. 💚
