Sometimes I think that the videos I post give the impression that things are coming easy for Stockton. I show the best video and not the multiple videos that are heartbreaking and emotional. Stockton is working so hard!
The progress he has made with his speech in just 2 days is amazing. He will copy almost anything we say as long is it is short. He is even trying to come up with his own words and sentences although they don’t usually come out right. His speech therapist, Tyler, has worked so hard to figure out to help Stockton find his words. Now that Stockton can say words he can start to relearn how to put sentences together.
His right leg is starting to move and even though they put a pulley on his foot today they don’t have to use it. It was amazing!! He can pinch his thumb and finger together on his right hand too. Progress just keeps coming.
Shoutout to the staff here. Kaylee comes by to say hi to Stockton even if she is not his aid. She is truly amazing and so kind. Lynn, Karin and so many others are truly sent by God to make this all a little easier.
Emma is back from vacation and I am so happy. She has a fun personality that Stockton enjoys and is also hyper aware of his needs. She makes him laugh through every session and it makes the hard work easier for him. Her tenacity is contagious, we are blessed to have her.
There are so many therapists that step in to help when needed and they are all amazing. Allen had Brandon and Stockton do some hug therapy and it was the sweetest thing.
It was great to have Degan come up for the weekend, and especially great for him to take a night shift and sleep at the hospital. Stockton gets sick of me so it’s good for him to get a break from me.
It really has been a great few days since the surgery and we are looking forward to many more. The miracles just keep coming. #tbi #tbisurvivor #expectmiracles
