$I would be lying if I said this semester was everything I hoped and dreamed of. Before my first XC race of the season I was diagnosed with a stress fracture (my first one ever) in my upper posterior tibia. At first (and for quite a while after), I was so upset, in denial, confused and just angry about what had happened. Why now? Why was God putting me through this trial when I felt I was in the best shape yet both physically and mentally and so ready to take on my last XC season with my team?! But looking back on my life I know that all the challenges I’ve faced in my life have only led to more beautiful, amazing things and blessings I could’ve never imagined. Sometimes we have to break in order for God to refine us and strengthen our weaknesses. This semester was tough but it was also so so sweet. I am so incredibly grateful for friends and teammates that take such good care of me, and are continually there to uplift me and speak truth to me. I’ve learned that there is so much more in life than our goals and where we believe we should be. The Lord has only brought me closer to Him and my teammates this semester and has given me a fresh perspective on life and running. I feel so renewed and excited to keep building, training, and take on the track season.
