💣💣 NEW WORK 💣💣

So I really wanted to focus on modern practical clothes for this one. It seems like so much of what we see coming down the runway these days is more about the fantasy and less about the reality—which I’m all for by the way. That’s what a runway show is about—reinventing and distorting notions of beauty. But then what to actually wear? How should men get new ideas on how to dress if the clothes are not relatable?

Then @david_roemer showed me this studio location and it all started to make sense. I’m going through my own love affair with 80s postmodern design. David, well aware, knows how to pull on my heartstrings and we both share a soft spot for that now distant decade defined by a constant, colliding presence of glamour and grit.

When I saw the unique bits of furniture they had collected in this space, it was like discovering Magellan’s lost treasure. It sparked inspiration and the story really needed that other layer.

I started thinking about 80s male archetypes—punks and New Romantics, dandies, breakdancers, and prepsters and I wanted to capture that essence through a modern lens—paired down so that all types of men reading the magazine could find inspiration and perhaps uncover a new idea on how to outfit themselves for everyday life.

I hope there's some take away. I know I left set that day with a number of ideas of what to put forth when the weather warms. x C

Ran off to Europe for 3 weeks, went stupid, had fun, saw the lads, back to tell the tale. Every now and again I think about how this is me job and it’s a blessing to be able to be in Paris with all of you lovelies, all gathered for the same purpose. Wickedly expensive wearable art and to get absolutely hammered. Also, NO I DIDNT FORGET THE FILM DUMP I JUST DIDNT DEVELOP THEM YET.
