One of the very best things about Secret Spa? The people. ❤️ Over the years we have built the most incredible community around Secret Spa and it is genuinely one of the things I am most proud of. I absolutely adore working with so many talented hair, beauty and wellness professionals. Obviously they are brilliant at what they do, but it is also the energy, kindness, humour and support they bring. Whether they are looking after our clients at home, working at one of our slightly bonkers events, learning a new treatment or sharing their knowledge with each other, they are such a special group. And then there is our epic HQ team, working away behind the scenes keeping the whole thing moving, solving problems, supporting our pros and clients and generally dealing with the wonderfully mad world that is Secret Spa! Looking through these photos made me realise quite how lucky I am. There are people in them who have been part of our journey for years, alongside newer faces who are now becoming part of the Secret Spa family. It really does take a village to build a business, and I think we have a pretty fabulous one. 🩷 So a little Friday love letter to our pros and HQ team, past and present. I start my beginner clients on 4 weeks of priming workouts to activate core, mobilise joints and recondition muscles that have been out of action. I then gently dial things up phase to phase. So many women in midlife think they need to jump straight into heavy weights or intense HIIT to see results. You don’t. You need to rebuild the foundations first. Strength is not just about lifting heavy ; it’s about restoring joint control, reconnecting to muscles that have switched off, and building resilience so your body can tolerate more later. This is how you avoid injury. This is how you improve confidence. This is how you create longevity. Master the basics. Lay the groundwork. Then we progress. At 45–55+, physiology changes. 1️⃣ Your body becomes more stress-sensitive. 2️⃣ Recovery matters much more. 3️⃣ Muscle becomes non-negotiable. If you want to age well, feel strong, build resilience and look good doing it ; the goal shouldn’t just be to be lighter. It should be to be stronger, metabolically resilient and hormonally stable.
