We had a splendid evening seeing Anything Goes from the Captain’s Table with @kazoocivic 👏

The performance transported us back to the 30’s between the music, dancing and costuming!

We also enjoyed first class amenities with the Captain’s Table Experience which made the voyage feel extra luxurious 🥂

Community isn’t just a location; it’s a living, breathing sound. And right here in West Michigan, no one captures that sound with more heart, devotion, and integrity than Local Spins.

We are incredibly grateful to have such an unwavering champion for independent music in our corner. Local Spins doesn’t just report on the scene—they fuel it. They show up to the empty clubs, amplify the voices of emerging artists, give our festivals a powerful megaphone, and constantly prove that the talent in our backyards can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with anyone in the world.

Thank you, Local Spins, for your tireless work, your deep passion, and for being the undisputed heartbeat of our music community. As we launch into our massive week of live music, we celebrate you! 🎸✨

The West Michigan music scene is a vibrant, interconnected ecosystem, and this week, all roads lead to Kalamazoo. Kicking off Monday, September 21, and running through Sunday, September 27, 2026, the fifth annual Sounds of the Zoo music festival is officially taking over the city.

What began as an ambitious community blueprint has exploded into a massive, city-wide movement. True to its founding philosophy, the entire week-long multicultural festival is 100% free and open to the public. It operates under a defining, powerful mission: “Creating Change Through Music.” By breaking down financial barriers, the festival ensures that world-class live performance and cultural education remain accessible to every single member of the community.

🎵 Behind every great festival is a community that lifts it up, and for years, Hampton Inn has been the heartbeat of our hospitality! 🏨✨

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Hampton Inn as a key sponsor of Sounds of the Zoo. They don’t just support our vision—they take care of the people who make it happen. Year after year, they have opened their doors to welcome our out-of-town music guests, giving them a beautiful place to rest, the coolest and most welcoming staff in town, and without a doubt, the best continental breakfast in West Michigan! 🥞☕

A festival of this scale relies on partners who truly believe in the power of music and community, and Hampton Inn has helped us grow every step of the way. Thank you for making our artists feel like family. 🙌❤️

The countdown is officially ON! Sounds of the Zoo kicks off next week, running from September 21–27, 2026. Get ready for 7 days of 100% FREE live music, featuring over 40 powerhouse bands across 8 incredible venues in Kalamazoo! 🗺️🎸

Drop a 🏨 or 🎵 in the comments to help us thank Hampton Inn, and head to the link in our bio to check out the full festival lineup and venues!
