Sometimes a little change is good for the soul. 💚 Designer Kristen Bonney-James @kbjinteriors loved the luxurious oak grain of our Noelle Hall Cabinet (MH1127F01), but chose to swap out the brass hardware for an extra pop of color. We couldn’t love it more! Paired with custom millwork and an artfully curated gallery wall, the finished space is absolutely stunning. 💫

Not every expensive home project is worth it. But some are worth every penny.

After restoring our 1960s Colonial—and spending the last 12+ years walking through hundreds of homes with buyers and sellers—I’ve realized the best investments usually aren’t the ones that make the biggest first impression.

They’re the ones that quietly make your home live better every single day.

Better flow. Better function. Better storage. Better character.

Those are the things that continue to pay you back long after the project is finished.

In today’s carousel, I’m sharing the five home investments I’d make again without hesitation.

I’m curious... which one would you prioritize in your own home?

& a big thank you to those professionals who made these things come to life in our home 🖤

It takes a village... and this renovation was proof of that.

After months of decisions, dust, delays, progress, and countless trips to the hardware store, our 1960s Colonial is really starting to feel like home.

While this project has been a labor of love for our family, it would not have been possible without the incredibly talented vendors, contractors, designers, and tradespeople who brought our vision to life. Every built-in, light fixture, tile selection, paint color, and finishing detail reflects the expertise and craftsmanship of people who genuinely care about their work.

To everyone who answered my texts, accommodated last-minute changes, solved unexpected problems, and treated our home like it was their own—thank you.

Home renovations are never as simple as they look on Instagram, but working with the right people makes all the difference.

I’m so grateful for each of you, and thank you for being great partners in the process.

What was once a pass-through space is now a true connection point within the home.

By opening both sides of the dining room with custom archways, this renovation created a natural flow between the kitchen, bourbon room, and surrounding living spaces—bringing light, movement, and continuity to the original 1960s layout.

Soft architectural details, layered textures, and warm finishes give the room a sense of balance: formal enough for hosting, yet fully connected to everyday living. One of those spaces that quietly changes how the entire home feels.

Where indoors meets out—seamlessly.

This newly added screened porch extends the kitchen beyond its walls, featuring bifold pass-through windows that create an easy flow for hosting, dining, and everyday living. Finished with warm wood ceilings, stone detailing, and generous natural light, it’s a space designed to be enjoyed in every season.

Part of our full home transformation—thoughtfully built from the ground up.

Want to see what else we transformed? Stay tuned—more from this home project coming soon.

So much goes into shoot days: the design plan by the interior designer, the renovation by the contractor and then pulling it all together for the final photograph!

Take a look at just some of the styling items at the start of the day. With careful placements, tweaking, pillow fluffing, throw tossing, folding, etc etc etc… the final image comes together.

Thanks to @kbjinteriors for the beautiful design, @yesterdays_carpentry for the skilled renovation and @charlottesafavi for the careful styling!
