💙May is Mental Health Awareness Month.💙

Mental health is just as important as physical health, especially in athletics. Behind every practice, competition, and performance is a student-athlete navigating life both on and off the field.

This month, we asked one student-athlete from each of our seven programs to share their thoughts and experiences surrounding mental health awareness. Their words serve as a reminder that checking in, speaking up, and supporting one another matters.

You are never alone.💚💚💚

KCKCC welcomes a new leader for Blue Devils men’s basketball. 🔵😈

Taylor Tucker has been named head coach after five standout seasons at DMACC, where he helped guide the Bears to a 117-21 record and built a reputation for recruiting, player development and winning culture.

“I think the biggest thing was just the opportunity that there is at KCKCC… there’s already been a lot of success there but I also think there’s room to grow.”

A proven winner with experience at multiple levels, Tucker is ready to build on the tradition and take Blue Devil basketball to new heights.

“I’m excited to get there and get started… I think there’s bright days ahead.”

Everyone, please welcome... Coach Taylor Tucker.

Darren McHenry is an absolute workhorse.

The 6’6 Kansas City native made his presence felt as a paint enforcer for the KCKCC Blue Devils, bringing constant energy and physicality while playing bigger than his size.

He attacks the glass with purpose, finishes above the rim with force, and impacts the game through sheer effort. With soft touch and nimble footwork, he adds versatility on the defensive end, able to hold his own across multiple matchups.

With those unteachable intangibles, he’s a gem for any 4-year program.

6’3 Andrew Tiemeyer is a gritty, swiss-army knife.

The Michigan native made his mark with the KCKCC Blue Devils as an instant energiser on both ends of the floor.

His defensive tenacity, combined with his ability to absorb and play through contact, makes him a true workhorse.

Offensively, he can knock down the catch and shoot three or get two feet in the paint and finish around the rim.

A high-character student-athlete who brings value to a wide range of 4-year systems.

6’1 PG Jameson Fischer is a true floor general.

The Shawnee, Kansas native ran the show all season for KCKCC, controlling the game with pace, poise, and elite court vision. His craftiness consistently puts defenders in tough spots.

A reliable three-point shooter (37.1%), Fischer is a threat both off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot situations. He also gets paint touches with ease, creating scoring opportunities for himself and others.

A strong pickup for any 4-year program in need of a lead guard who can run a team and make winning plays.

6’3 Combo Guard Ta’Veaion Washington was a problem all season in the KJCCC.

The versatile guard out of Springfield, Missouri earned First Team All-Conference honors after a strong season with KCKCC.

Washington averaged:
• 11 PPG
• 6.4 RPG
• 2.3 APG

A versatile combo guard with size and impact on both ends, Washington is a prospect 4-year programs should have on their radar.
