POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I’m so incredibly late, but spending a week at Camp KESEM changed me more than I could’ve ever imagined. Going into camp I used my mom as motivation to help those that are in the same position as I once was. Many don’t realize how much cancer can impact a family until you’re actually in it. These kids hold such a high level of maturity with grace that most kids their age don’t have to think about. I am so grateful that an organization like KESEM gives kids an opportunity to step away, and just be kids. Thank you to my Silver Girlies for making my first year special, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. - Bunny :)

For those that don’t know, Camp Kesem is a truly magical camp. for kids whose parents have or have had cancer. For 8 years, kesem provided a safe haven for me in the middle of a storm. There was truly nothing I had ever experienced that came close to the magic, love, and friendship that I experienced here every single year. Every time I came back it was like not a second had passed.

This year, treehugger came to camp as a counselor! And I can truly say it was even more magical than any time I ever had as a camper. Being able to get to know these kids, and hear their stories truly amazed me. Their strength and courage in their every day lives, their friendships with each other, their innate desire to support one another truly inspires me and I look up to each and every camper at kesem.

Thank you to every counselor, every admin, parent, camper, alumni, nationals worker, and donater. Thank you to everyone who makes kesem what it is. Thank you @kesem.ku for another magical year.

Kesem shouldn’t have to exist. But in a world where it does have to, I’m glad it does. Because until there’s a cure, there’s a camp. And that camp truly is magic. 💚💙

Warning for an extremely sentimental post that I never do but @kesem.ku is my only exception

I cannot believe this is my last year being a part of this indescribable organization. The past four years have opened my eyes to the most resilient, hilarious, welcoming, and loving people I have ever met. Cancer has taken too much from many of us and Kesem is the only positive thing to come out of it.

To my campers, thank you for teaching me so much about life and allowing me to look up to you even though you’re younger than me. You guys are the reason we put in countless hours throughout the year, because you guys make it all worth it. You guys have changed my life and I will miss you all more than you’ll ever understand.

To our amazing and hardworking counselors, THANK YOU!!! We would never be here without you. Watching all of you lead campers with grace and humility makes me so proud and it is my favorite thing about camp. Love you all endlessly!!

And to @izzymohatt, who’s not only my co-director but my best friend and sister. You are my biggest blessing that KU and Kesem have brought me. There’s no one else I’d rather be with on this crazy ride. We did a really beautiful thing and I love you forever and ever.

There is no love like Kesem love and you can never understand it until you come to camp and experience it. Under the same moon and stars💙💚✨ Cheesecake clocking out💌🥰
