I went to Gallery ‘Iolani at Windward Community College last night by grace of an invitation from Su‘a Sulu‘ape Mālama o Mataitoa Keone Nunes to view and experience “‘ai mama”, his amazing joint exhibition with ‘Ōlohe G. ‘Umi Kai.

The items and photos on exhibit as well as the space itself and the people sharing it - the ‘ike of it all, was moving, touching, and inspiring and I felt it through every fiber of my being.
Thank you @suluape_keone for inviting me to once again share time and space with you, and for allowing all of us to honor you and your work.

The dissonance that I’ve been experiencing between myself and the modern world - especially the one that tattooing has mutated to, I was shown why I’ve been feeling it more than ever and that I’m not wrong, nor am I alone in my state. I was also shown the answer: Look back for the ancestors are always there holding the answers to all your questions in their hands. Stay focused on the task at hand - do not let the things that do not serve you or your purpose distract and hinder you.

Su‘a Sulu‘ape Mālama o Mataitoa Keone Nunes will be in residence doing work; there are also walk-throughs, panel discussions, and a lot more during the exhibition.
I highly recommend not only tattooers, but anyone interested in tattoos as well as the culture and history to go and experience the ‘ike that Su‘a Sulu‘ape Mālama o Mataitoa Keone Nunes and ‘Ōlohe G. ‘Umi Kai are so generously sharing with us.

Throwback to when Robert Patrick found us at the @hawaiitattooexpo and loved our products so much, that he had his camera guy film our booth! 🙌🏼

This is the first year in 10 years (!) that we will unfortunately not be attending this wonderful event. As sad as we are, we are stoked that @hunminji @6corpsehouse9 and a few other amazing artists will be there with free ‘Ohana samples! We hope everyone has an amazing show, and we look forward to being back next year! 🤙🏼❤️💕

36 years 🎂

A lot can happen in a short period of time.
Last year I celebrated my birthday while filming @inkmaster. I miss yinz dearly ✌🏻

This year I get to celebrate in my new shop @sleepwalkertattoo 🥳

I told myself years ago that I wanted to do something great and have a business of my own before I turned 36… and I just barely made it 😂
