I became a single mom at a really young age with absolutely no idea what I was going to do. It was overwhelming, scary, and there were definitely times when I wondered how I was going to figure it all out.

My brother played baseball here at UCLA and started here when Colt was just a newborn. We made our first trip down to watch him play when Colt was only 5 weeks old. For the first three years of his life, Colt spent a lot of time at this field watching his uncle play. 💙⚾️

At the time, we had no idea if he would even love baseball.

Turns out, he loves it more than I think anyone in our entire family. 🤣

When he was little and you asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he’d tell you he wanted to be “a baseball man.” And honestly, not much has changed.

Life is funny like that. Sometimes your journey makes absolutely no sense while you’re living it. Then you get older, look back, and little pieces start falling into place.

I was meant to have this boy. I was meant to bring him into this world when I did. And maybe some of the dreams I thought I was supposed to chase were simply making room for something I could have never understood back then.

Now I get to sit in the stands and watch him chase his.

No matter where baseball takes him or where he ends up playing, I’ll be there. Supporting him, cheering for him, and watching him go after the dream he’s had since he was little.

But getting invited out to this UCLA prospect camp was a pretty special full-circle moment for me and our family. The same field where we brought him at 5 weeks old to watch my brother play — and even the same head coach my brother played for — and now Colt is the one out there. 🥹

I have no idea where his story will take him, but I can’t wait to watch it unfold.

Turns out, this really is 10x better. 🤍⚾️

All my special Valentines, love our family so much. It’s been a wild ride the past couple years, but here we are. We made it AND have a special little blessing coming in a few months💕💕💕💕.

Short story……… our gender reveal was supposed to happen while it was a little darker outside 🤣. So we could see the lights and balloons go off at the same time, but I couldn’t wait any longer. The anticipation was killing me and I had a feeling from the start it was a girl, although as we were standing there waiting for the balloons I kept repeating “it’s gonna be a boy, it’s gonna be a boy.” Then I saw colts reaction as the balloons went up and knew ITS A GIRL 💕💕💕

This kid has been obsessed with baseball ever since Pops trained him to bat left handed…… when he was like 1yrs old.

I love watching my kid play and I love traveling with him on all of our baseball adventures. We head to Huntington Beach this week and then a week later he’s off to Mississippi to go to the Ole Miss baseball camp.

Thanks for the photos @paige.bailey07
