🏝️ Last week on Moorea I fulfilled a lifelong dream of swimming with humpback whales. 🐋 🥰 While fully immersed in their environment and patiently waiting for a possible approach, Mama emerged up out of the blue on a direct course for… us! 😳 A last second pivot on her part and significant backpedaling on ours made for an indescribably magical encounter with Mama and her playful calf. 🥹 So how close were we? Um… a lot closer than I thought while it was all happening! 🤣🤣🤣 💦 I am so deeply grateful to have experienced the awe-inspiring connection and mutual respect between the watermen and women of Moorea and its bountiful marine life. ~ Different bodies connected by the same ocean ~ No nací cerca del mar, lejos de eso, nací y crecí en una ciudad, donde el color predominante siempre fue el gris. Pero nunca quise que eso me defina, por eso desde chica me fijé un objetivo: dejar atrás el gris para perseguir el azul. Y cómo imaginarán, cuando te sumergís en un color tan profundo… pasan cosas mágicas. En el azul no existe la gravedad, podes volar, girar, ser rápido, lento, nadar en lo profundo o flotar sin fin. En el azul viven seres increíbles, fuera de nuestra imaginación, lo habitan seres gigantes, también pequeños, diminutos, seres transparentes, coloridos, seres que cantan, bailan, viajan, se comunican, seres con culturas y tradiciones inimaginables para nosotros los habitantes de la tierra y más para un ser del gris, como supe serlo. Pero cumplí mi objetivo, me acerqué al azul, lo visito cada vez que puedo, lo disfruto, aprendo de él, me enseña mucho. Pero lo más increíble empecé a sentir y pensar como los seres de este color. Aquí la foto, dos seres nacidos en diferentes mundos, en diferentes elementos, pero unidos por un mismo color, por un mismo amor, por un mismo hogar, Le Bleu 🌊 Que el color donde nació tu cuerpo no defina el color donde vibra tu alma. #moorea #photography #underwater #whale

More bones to collect than I thought. Guess that’s just the price of battles fought. Battles won. Trophies hidden somewhere deep in the smithereens. I wonder if not here, where would they go? I wonder if they dreamt of a better home. If maybe we fight so we need not be alone. Or maybe for some way to atone. When did the sun get so cold? And this here- putrid stale air filled with black smoke? Might as well light a doob. Tone a bit, inspire the mood. Might as well add my song to the breeze. The embers in the air melt the ice to my freeze. Might as well dance as I sing. Cleaning rotting skulls of dead kings. These are a few of my favorite things. Right? Hands, saturated brown in unholy blood. But I thought rainbows meant no flood? No easy job to keep. No job for the weak. Cracked open, four score.
