After much needed rest and celebration, we want to reflect on our most successful nationals in team history - 4th IN THE NATION, countless outrounds and advancements, and three students finishing in the top ten in pentathalon. Many firsts for Wayne State Speech, including our very own novice, Mason, taking home pentathalon champion! The dedication and hard work of our students has been inspirational, to say the least.

Congratulations to @texas.speech on this year's successes. And thank you to @nfaforensics and @tsuspeechanddebate for hosting such a fantastic tournament! Until next year...💚💛

I look better in suits anyway 🤭

NFA 2026! My freshman year of speech is officially over. This season has really pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me a much more confident competitor. To my fellow novices: I’m so grateful I got to grow alongside you 🤗 To my varsity members: thank you for creating a space where I could learn and keep improving 🤩 To my coaches: thank you for teaching me everything I know (and for putting up with me, especially when I’m being stubborn 🤪).

This activity has given me more than awards or rounds ever could. It’s given me a voice, a purpose, a community I’m endlessly grateful for, and more importantly a place to do what I love most: advocate! I’m really proud of how far I’ve come, and even more excited for everything ahead.

That’s a wrap to the second year man its been a ride this year, I’ve been through life altering changes and situations and here we are still finding ways to prevail. I can’t thank speech enough for what it has done for me so far And my team for being there during my lowest moments this year showing how there more than a team but a family thank you for all of the Judges, Coaches, and competitors that have supported me and helped me in this community I love all the connections I made this year and I can’t wait to see what the next two years bring in this activity. Goodbye chapter 2, chapter 3 let’s ride!!🫶🏿🫆

To the collegiate forensics community: thank you all so much for welcoming me into your world! Winning first place overall as a freshman for the first time in history is surreal, but my love for this activity goes much deeper than my found success. Getting to hear your authentic stories through your beautiful performances, while getting to share my own, has been the highlight of my college experience thus far, and I so look forward to continuing living and loving in this world for another 3 years. I love you all, genuinely.

To wayne state speech: thank you, simply, for being my family. For your constant support and love. I adore and admire each and every one of you, deeply.
