Keidean Coleman has thanked everyone involved with the Brisbane Lions as he prepares to “start a new chapter of [his] life with [his] 2 beautiful kids and partner”. While Kiddy sadly missed out on playing in one of the Club’s three winning Grand Final teams, he will undoubtedly always be considered a premiership player by supporters. Best wishes, @keideancoleman

“Who would have thought for 6 years l’d get to call this great club a home. They took a chance on a kid from the bush (NT) with a dream to play 1 AFL game and overtime helped me mature and develop into the person I am today. They were there for me through the highs of highs and mainly through the lows of lows. Not enough words can explain how grateful I am to my teammates, coaches, and staff that were there to support me. THANKYOU!! And lastly to the amazing fan base of the Brisbane Lions, thanks for everything. Very excited to start a new chapter of my life with my 2 beautiful kids and partner @ryliemoore_. We are so excited and can’t wait to get started at the Dons!
Love, Kiddy”

🚨 KIDEY COLEMAN IS A BOMBER! ❤️🖤

Essendon has secured Keidean Coleman and pick 25 from Brisbane in exchange for picks 21 and 27 in the dying minutes of the trade period.

It's a move seven years in the making after Essendon first bid on Kiddy in the 2019 National Draft, only for Brisbane to match.

At his best, Coleman is one of the most damaging ball users off half-back in the competition. His elite left foot, speed, agility and ability to take the game on are exactly what our defence has been crying out for!

His 2023 Grand Final performance was outstanding. He finished runner-up in the Norm Smith Medal after collecting a game-high 23 kicks and also finished second in the Gary Ayres Medal for the best player across the finals series.

Injuries have cruelled his career since, including an ACL rupture in 2024 and further setbacks in 2025. But he returned to AFL football in 2026 and now gets a fresh start at the Bombers.

Matt Rosa made it clear the club was aligned on getting the deal done, and Kiddy is excited about the opportunity to play for Essendon.

We get a genuine difference-maker in an area where we desperately need better ball movement, and we also get pick 25 back.

Welcome to the Hangar, Kiddy! Can't wait to see that left foot in the red and black.

4th September 2020. Debut for the Lions in a win against Collingwood. When I first saw Kiddy, I knew a star was in the making. Was my favourite player from Day 1 and it helped being a Lions fan

31st July 2022. This account was created. Since then, we’ve had 4 years of Kiddy content and showing love and appreciation toward him and his family.

2023 prelim final. This was the game that put the whole comp on notice, absolutely destroying Carlton. Following that, the 2023 grand final, best player for the Lions.

What followed was 3 years of hard work, injury, and grind to come back to the top again. As much as it hurts as a Lions supporter losing Kiddy, I am always a supporter of Kiddy and his family. Which means I will also now support Essendon like I support the Lions.

Thank you Lions fans, for all your love and support over this page and Kiddy. I know he always love you all. Going to miss reporting for you guys, but I know the Lions will always be contenders.

@essendonfc. Get ready. Kiddy is coming and we are going to help this great club again. This is the start of the new journey, and I can’t wait to see how Kiddy shines.

Once again, thank you Lions fans
