MARGIN is currently hosting Keith Boadwee "KEITH BOADWEE RECENT PAINTINGS". This exhibition consists of new paintings based on anthropomorphic animals. Using frogs and dogs as his subject matter, Baudrillard's recent work has challenged conventional social norms of heterosexuality and questioned the nature of identity. The animals he depicts are intentionally genderless in order to eliminate preconceived notions. The animals he depicts are intentionally genderless in order to eliminate preconceived notions, expressing attraction and desire as alternatives that do not stand on the premise of gender. He describes the frog as an autobiographical character, a stand-in for himself that focuses on a more personal narrative." “KEITH BOADWEE RECENT PAINTINGS” 2.18(Fri)- 3/5(Sat) 10AM-6PM　Closed on Sun and National Holiday　 MARGIN | Nihonbashi Yokoyama-Cho, Chuo-Ku, Tokyo, JPN 103-0003 MARGINでは、キース・ボードウィー「KEITH BOADWEE RECENT PAINTINGS」開催中です。 4-10 #art #artist #painting #artistsoninstagram #artoftheday #oilpainting

MARGIN is pleased to present “KEITH BOADWEE RECENT PAINTING,” the first solo exhibition in Japan by California-based artist Keith Boadwee. In this exhibition, eleven of Boadwee’s oil paintings created after 2020 will be shown for the first time in Japan. 4-10 Born 1961 in Mississippi, USA. A few more favorites from the @nicoleeisenman / @keithboadwee exhibition @flagartfoundation I wrote about Nicole’s recent solo exhibition @contemporaryatx for @sculpture_magazine and while a few pieces from that show are at Flag, they’ve done a fabulous job at completely reinventing the experience. This is a selection of some of Nicole’s work including a new painting of Keith Boadawee (fourth & fifth slides) and several older works on paper that I’ve never seen, as well as a plaster sculpture with candles that were lit 🔥 once during the exhibition due to safety (first slide). #scroll 🏴‍☠️ #mustsee 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

— “Tom “Hunter” Durbin was my second partner who died from AIDS, a few years after this photo was made. He died a year after my first ever partner, Danny Wilson, also died from AIDS. Neither reached 50. I was convinced I too would die from AIDS. My third partner, Frank, was wasting and had Kaposi's sarcoma when he went on a trial of new meds at UCLA. Within a week, he was on the mend and is still generally healthy. His health issues now are age related.” — 📖 by Keith Boadwee @keithboadwee 📸 @kencarlile #whatisrememberedlives

“Nicole Eisenman and Keith Boadwee,” closes TODAY, Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the @flagartfoundation. Click on the link in FLAG’s bio to schedule a visit. — The recipient of @contemporaryatx’s 2020 Suzanne Deal Booth / FLAG Art Foundation Prize, Eisenman created thematically-linked solo exhibitions for The Contemporary Austin and FLAG. Eisenman expanded the exhibition in NYC to include artist Keith Boadwee; their shared use of humor and critical observation questions both real and imagined power structures, upends art history, and lampoons notions of “good taste.” — #NicoleEisenman @nicoleeisenman #KeithBoadwee @keithboadwee #SuzanneDealBoothFLAGArtFoundationPrize
