Summer 2026 - UMass Football 🏈

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to work with the UMass Amherst Football program as a Sports Performance Intern.

Being part of a D-I collegiate football environment gave me a firsthand look at what goes into developing athletes in the off-season and through pre-season camp. I spent 11 weeks coaching speed sessions and gym lifts, programming rehabilitation and RTP protocols, and using top-of-the-range technologies like Catapult, NordBoard and Hawkins Dynamics Force Plates. I learned how performance programs are structured and observed the day-to-day demands placed on collegiate athletes; every day brought a new learning experience.

One of my biggest takeaways was understanding how much goes into the details; preparation, consistency, communication, recovery, and building strong relationships with athletes and staff all play a role in performance.

I’m incredibly grateful to @greenestrength, @coach.ibb, @jamesenglish12 and @coach_jstern for their mentorship and support throughout my time at UMass and I’m privileged to have connected with some other incredible professionals in both Sport Performance and Sports Medicine, including Marc Paquet, Scott Myrick, @m_vaughan37, @tylerstratton13, @coachsimone_ and @richworsell.

I want to thank everyone at @umass and @umassfootball, including coaches and, of course, all of the players who welcomed me into the programme, challenged me to learn, and allowed me to gain valuable experience in a high-performance environment.

This experience has strengthened my passion for sports performance and strength & conditioning, and I’m excited to take what I’ve learned into the next stage of my journey.
