Proud to Acquire the Business That Helped Shape My Journey

Today, I am proud to share a milestone that is both professionally significant and deeply personal: I have acquired the business where I spent nearly eight years of my career. For many people, a company is simply a workplace. For me, GCGD has always been much more than that.

My family and I will always be grateful for the role this business played in our lives. It provided a foundation that helped us establish ourselves in Australia and ultimately become Australian citizens. In many ways, it became part of our story and part of who we are.

When I left the studio a year ago, I carried with me the experiences, lessons, and relationships that had been built over those years. While I moved on to new opportunities, I never lost my appreciation for what it had given me.

I do not see this as simply taking ownership of a business. I see it as becoming a steward of something that has had a profound impact on my life and on many others in our community.

This moment would not be possible without @kelannon For more than 20 years, Kelly has built this business with dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the people it serves. The reputation, relationships, and values that define GCGD today are a reflection of her hard work and leadership. On a personal level, Kelly has supported me, believed in me, and provided opportunities that have had a lasting impact on my life. The trust she has placed in me over the years is something I will never take for granted.

It is an honour to carry forward the legacy she has created. While every new chapter brings change, my commitment is to protect the values, culture, and community spirit that have made this business so special for more than two decades.

I am excited to lead the next chapter of this remarkable business and to continue its legacy.

EXCITING NEWS!!!!

Starting with a recap: 22 years ago, I was a jillaroo, uneducated, and a brave and tenacious broke single mum. With no support I started Gold Coast Graphic Design (aka Kelannon Designs- haha bad idea I know!) with the desire to create income and a stable home where my girl would not need to be in care and I could work from home.

Over the years I learn to spell, to read, and to love business, to design and really care and connect to people stories, and see the sacrifice small business bravely make every day.

Just like me, they started at the kitchen table, they worked silly hours, they went without, and they stayed up worrying and strategise in their heads most nights.

I am proud of myself and of the woman I have become. I am amazed also at the skills and passion of my team. Especially Isaac. Several years ago he blew my mind with his skills, and his dedication to GCGD, so much so I sponsored him and his family. His bravery and dedication still astounded me. I love and respect him dearly.

Now I am super excited to share, Isaac is the new custodian and owner of Gold Coast Graphic Design. My baby becomes his. I am ridiculously excited for this transition and can't wait to see another spectacular 20 years unfold.

I will still be on the edges supporting Isaac for a couple of years. Although I'll be in my bus getting lost in the bush, traveling and creating my next adventure.

I want to thank every person, especially my baby girl Lilly for her sacrifices and fuckin deep complete support, Lindsay who let me take each step, learn and fumble, my other girl Jessi who now is a designer too, and many others (Shirley, Garry Mac Donald, David Mc Lean, BNI, EO, Janeene, Nicole) as I would not be the woman I am, and Gold Coast Graphic Design would not be the gift of legacy without you.

Six years may not sound like a lot, but it’s been an incredible journey, and it’s all thanks to the amazing people who have been part of it. Sure, we’ve achieved great financial and operational milestones, but what truly brings me joy is seeing the personal growth and achievements of those who have been with me along the way.

@kelannon became a Nana twice and now travels the country in her van 🚐, @c_weezy and @elle_bsenko both became proud parents 👶, @skyecrispp and @fromabbey blossomed into brilliant professionals 💼, and Rach shifted her focus from plants to spending more time surfing 🏄‍♀️. @leandrogimenez chased his professional dreams and made them a reality 🌟, and my brother @j0rd0n not only became an entrepreneur but also a husband and fitness enthusiast 💪 while still loving Eddies. @mocohh became an Australian citizen 🇦🇺, raised his child, and bought a home 🏡, while @danielec8 diversified his talents and started his own business abroad 🌍.

@mtorresarbues transitioned from architect to a powerhouse graphic designer 🎨, squeezing in surf sessions before work 🏄‍♀️. @gusmarmitt expanded his skills, chasing the Aussie dream and finding love 💖. And @art.juferreira flourished as both a designer and an artist, all while getting engaged 💍.

It’s been a rewarding six years filled with growth, connection, and incredible stories. Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of this journey! Here’s to many more years of success and friendship 🙌 #6YearsInBusiness #Grateful
