Where would I be without sports?

From a young age, we’re taught to shrink — to be grateful for opportunities instead of demanding them. We hear constant comparisons, jokes, and subtle remarks that make us feel less valuable, less strong, less capable. And while it might be easy to believe those things, I’m here to flip the script.

Women are not at a disadvantage. In fact, we are capable of the same — if not more. We are strong, smart, relentless, competitive, and beautiful in our own unique ways. Yes, some odds may be against us, and things may not always feel fair. But that doesn’t mean we pout or complain — it means we keep showing up. We keep knocking on the door. We keep proving why women deserve a seat at the table… and more.

You are in control of your destiny. Don’t let anyone take that from you.

Because of sports, I’ve learned how to be different. To be loud. To demand “yes” when I’m told “no.” To stand up for what I want and what I believe in — no matter the consequences. I’ve learned how to lead. How to love myself, flaws and all. How to communicate, sacrifice, appreciate, and love. I’ve pushed myself beyond limits, allowed myself to chase greatness, and never taken a single moment for granted.

I am the woman I am today because of sports, and I owe so much to the game that taught me lessons I’ll carry forever.

I’m still hungry. Still wanting more. And I refuse to quit now.

So to all the young women reading this — hear me when I say:

If you’ve ever doubted yourself,
Ever felt behind,
Ever wanted to quit,
Or compared yourself to others…

You are not broken.
You are not behind.
And you do not need permission to take up space.

Keep going. Keep showing up. Keep doing the little things the right way. I promise — it all comes together. Trust the process. Love yourself. Thank the people who support you and sacrifice for you.

Be different. Be emotional. Be loud. Be brave.
Be the badass you were always meant to be.

And thank you, sports, for giving women so much more than just a game. We are forever grateful.

Happy National Girls and Women in Sports Day. 💪✨
