On Friday evening my Dad went to go be with the good Lord. I still cannot believe it is real. That I will never see him again or hear him make us laugh. There are so many things that I will miss about him, and dread for the days to come without him here by my side. However, I know he is at peace & at rest. I hope one day we will understand and can be a family of four again. Until that day I hope to live like my Dad so I even have a chance of making it there. Cancer has taken too much from my family already and one thing I hope it never takes is our Faith. We won’t let that happen, and if anything I pray it grows stronger. I even pray that my Dad being gone encourages someone to pick up the Bible or go to church. He was overjoyed when people said that they opened the Bible because of him. I hope to make him proud and stay committed to my faith. If you knew my Dad you know he was truly his own person. He would say or do things that would have you crying with laughter. He had the biggest heart and always said, “I just love good people”. So, be “good”. I am so thankful for the trips and memories we were blessed with. I love the silly videos of the four of us that he filmed. I wish I could just go back to that moment again. My Dad was too lively for that soul to just be gone and that is how I know Heaven has to be real. Through this whole process, I have learned so much. I have never seen someone so supported and have so many true friends. I now value my friendships even more. My Dad taught me to cherish my friendships and family because that’s one of the most important parts of life. I hope to be as good of a friend as he was. I will miss him forever, but I hope to live like him. I pray that we find each other again. Thank you to everyone who has been there for my family. It has helped us through this difficult period and eased my Dad’s pain knowing we are supported. This was the verse the day he was called home on my Bible app: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” - 2 Corinthians 4:18. It seemed very fitting. I love you Dad. And for one last time, NNDLTBBBBB ❤️
