A little glimpse into our journey Beyond the Diagnosis. 🦋💙

Mykel is 18, and although he is considered nonverbal, that does not mean he has nothing to say. He communicates through his AAC device and spoken words, while his speech therapist continues to work with him on expanding his communication.

Right now, Mykel primarily uses his AAC device at school and during outpatient therapy. We’re working toward getting him more comfortable taking it with him into everyday settings, especially because communication should be available to him wherever he goes.

Today’s session was also about independence, following directions, and encouraging him to do more for himself.

At 18, Mykel still needs a lot of support, prompting, and supervision. And that’s okay. We’re continuing to build on what he CAN do while giving him the support he needs.

Sometimes progress looks small to someone else, but to us, it’s a BIG win. 💙

This is our journey Beyond the Diagnosis. 🦋

Help me celebrate a very special gift God has placed in my life. 💙

Adonis, you are more than a friend, you are like a son to me. I thank God for the anointing, vision, and purpose He placed inside of you. Your heart for bringing the autism community together, creating connection, and building a space of love and support is truly a blessing.

Your leadership, kindness, and passion are making an impact in so many lives. I am grateful my son is a part of the community you have created, and I am honored to partner with you.

Happy Birthday, Adonis! May God continue to bless your vision and the lives you touch. 🎉💙 #happybirthday🎂 #autismfamilysticktogether #wecelebrateyou

Every obstacle showed up, but so did God.

The day is here.

What God ordains cannot be canceled, delayed, or denied. Tomorrow we launch More Than Able, and I am honored to share my story through Beyond the Diagnosis.

See you at the book launch.

The power of prayer is real. 🙏🏽

People often ask me how I continue to stay strong while carrying so much, pouring into others, advocating, parenting, serving, leading, and still showing up with faith. The truth is… prayer keeps me afloat.

Even on the days when I feel empty, overwhelmed, tired, or emotionally drained, I still pray. I still worship. I still pour back into myself spiritually. It’s not just something I do when life is good… it’s a consistent part of my life. Prayer is what strengthens me when I don’t have strength on my own.

This week, I’m honored to be part of the Prayer & Intercession Summit happening virtually this Thursday. A powerful time of prayer, intercession, encouragement, and seeking God together. I’m also super excited to support my sister and everyone involved in this summit.

If this video comes across your timeline on TikTok, Facebook, IG or any social media and you would like to join us virtually, send me a message and I’ll send you the Zoom information.

There is power in prayer.
There is strength in community.
And there is still hope. #prayer #powerinprayer #praywithoutceasing #prayerwarriors #christiantiktok

Anxiety and all… my son did it. 🎓

Mykel walked across that stage with courage, support, and determination. Every accommodation was met. His para, Mr. Armstrong, walked behind him the entire way, reminding him he was safe and not alone. He crossed that stage and was able to transition out peacefully afterward. And it was beautiful.

Today reminded me why advocacy matters.

Not just for my son, but for ALL students.

The principal even acknowledged me during his speech and thanked me for constructive criticism and advocacy over the years. That moment was unexpected, hilarious, and meaningful all at once because it showed me that the work does not go unseen.

One thing about Mykel… he knows he is loved.

And today, love showed up for him.

Parents, please hear me when I say this: if my son could do it, your child can too. Keep advocating. Keep showing up. Keep believing.

Congratulations, Class of 2026.
You made it, Mykel.
Onward forward to the next journey. 💙 #autism #wemadeit #proudfamily #2k26 #godisgood

In honor of Women’s History Month I want to celebrate a woman I deeply love and respect my sister

When I opened my business in South Chicago in 2020 she followed her vision and opened hers in 2021 Over the years we have supported each other worked on projects together and continued to build in our community

Recently her business expanded after receiving a grant and buying a new building right here in South Chicago The ambiance is beautiful the food is amazing and every detail reflects her heart culture and purpose

Many of her customers order through DoorDash but we want people to actually come inside and experience the atmosphere the culture and the heart behind what she has built She is not only building a business here she is supporting her family helping her country and sending money to other Black women back home Her dream is to one day build a school in Africa

I am honored to stand beside her and support all she is doing

To bring more exposure to this beautiful space and share it with the community and surrounding cities we will start hosting monthly events in April We are kicking things off with Afro Beats Dancehall a night of rhythm culture and community Each month will bring something new to celebrate her business her culture and the people who support her

Even if you cannot attend the event please support her Stop by enjoy the food experience the space and help amplify the work of a Black woman building leading and inspiring

When women support one another we are truly unstoppable

Share the flyer Share the event and when you stop by tell her I sent you. #africanfood #africancuisine #womeninbusiness #womenhistorymonth #community
