Intro to Watercolor with Kelly Cook is going great.💧 Last session, students created collages to replicate in gray scale with watercolor. After, they glazed their paintings with color. 💡Glazing is the application of a thin transparent layer of color over a dry layer. This modifies the hue and value of the layer below without having to paint several shades of the chosen color. If you missed Kelly's last class, it's not too late to join her upcoming Alternative Watercolor Processes! ✨ This hands-on watercolor class focuses on exploring creative, unconventional techniques and materials. Students will experiment with methods such as monotypes on Yupo paper, painting on glass or plexiglass, building texture with unexpected materials, and creating simple plant-based watercolors. The course emphasizes curiosity, process, and creative risk-taking rather than polished final pieces. Through ongoing experimentation, students will produce a series of exploratory works while developing new skills and approaches that can expand and enrich their personal watercolor practice. Completion of Intro to Watercolor or previous experience is suggested to get the most from this class. 💫 • 🗓 Dates: Tuesday's, March 24, 2026 - Tuesday April 21, 2026 • ⏰ Time: 6:00 - 9:00pm • 💧 Focus: Watercolor exploration Link in bio to register! ⬆️
