People often ask me, “How do you do it?” The truth is, I don’t do it alone. I have a family who understands that while they will always be my number one priority, dance is part of who I am. A husband who supports my passion, and daughters who looks at me with pride when they sees their mommy dance. I have a dance partner who embraced every stage of my journey into motherhood—who never made me feel like pregnancy or becoming a mom was a burden to our partnership, and who welcomed every version of me onto the dance floor. I’ve been surrounded by event organizers who made space for me, supported me through pregnancy, and now welcome me with a baby by my side. I have Vanessa, my Allure team leader, who stepped up when I needed her and helped keep everything moving when I couldn’t. And I have an incredible group of students who stayed with me through two pregnancies, welcomed my little girls, adapted with me, and never stopped believing in what we were building together. This is my tribe. These are my people. They allow me to be a mother, an artist, a teacher, a dancer—and still be me. And that is how I do it. Thank you ❤️

Jhaime, an award-winning choreographer, performer, and Artistic Director of Alliance Dance Company @alliancedancecompany, is known for his innovative productions, leadership within the Canadian Latin dance community, and his commitment to developing the next generation of artists. Valentina, originally from Colombia , brings extensive training in ballet, contemporary dance, ballroom, and Latin dance, having performed and trained with prestigious institutions and companies throughout her career. Together, they have quickly established themselves as one of Canada’s most recognized Bachata couples, earning top placements at major international competitions and some of the world’s most prestigious stages. Their work combines athleticism, musicality, emotional connection, and theatrical storytelling, creating performances that are both technically refined and deeply authentic. Beyond competition and performance, Jhaime & Valentina are passionate educators dedicated to helping dancers grow artistically and personally. Through workshops, coaching, performances, and mentorship, they strive to inspire dancers to pursue excellence while remaining connected to the joy and humanity of dance. Their mission is simple: to create meaningful artistic experiences, elevate Latin dance in Canada, and inspire others through movement, connection, and storytelling. Edwin Rivera was featured in the movie El Cantante with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, and on the popular South American television show “Let’s Dance, Rojo Fama Contrafama”. Edwin has been a producer of the Los Angeles Salsa Festival and the World Latin Dance Cup. He is artistic director of many congresses including the New York International Salsa Congress. Edwin works with Fania Records on their “We Love to See You Dance” series on Youtube and MONSTER PRODUCTS “The Monster Sound of Latin” initiative.
