Earlier this year I took a four-week magic class (true story) and my skills still aren’t nearly this good. I am, however, very adept at making what’s IN the can disappear….🪄

Just finished a long hike? 🥾🌲 Your recovery matters just as much as the miles you put in.

Whether you explored local trails around Burlington, Massachusetts or tackled a mountain adventure, hiking places significant demands on your muscles, joints, tendons, and nervous system. Proper recovery helps reduce soreness, prevent injuries, and get you ready for your next adventure.

Here are a few active recovery movements for after a long hike:
✅ Foam rolling the spice spots- calves and tib muscles
✅ Stretching of the quads and hip flexors
✅ Mobilization of your ankles
✅ Stretching of your calves and plantar fascia
✅ Double Leg Deficit Heel Raise - 2 Legs up 1 Leg down with Ipsilateral Dumbbell
✅ Assisted Single Leg Heel Deficit Calf Raise

If you’re dealing with knee pain, ankle pain, hip pain, foot pain, back pain, or lingering soreness after hiking, a physical therapy evaluation can help identify the root cause before it becomes a bigger problem.

At our out-of-network physical therapy clinic in Burlington, MA, we specialize in helping active adults and outdoor enthusiasts recover from hiking injuries, improve mobility, build strength, and return to the activities they love—without relying on temporary fixes.

Don’t let pain keep you off the trails. Recovery is part of training.

2016 really was great ✨💕 so much cuteness with Dan, bought a house, first distillery conference, tons of fun times with beloveds, purchased the best painting, partied and traveled, and Beluga was my best tiny friend 💗
