We had an incredible event last Friday at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center where we watched Breaking the Deadlock: Truth Under Fire and talked about media literacy, A.I., and civic dialogue.

What. A. Night!!!!!

I was the recipient of FIVE Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards last night.

FIVE different times I heard “And the Emmy Goes to…..” followed by the title of work that I helped create.

FIVE surreal moments in Phoenix with my best friend by my side.

Heading home to Utah with FIVE golden ladies feels like a complete dream. That means five different panels of judges thought the work we are producing at PBS Utah was the best in its field. At a time when the existence of public media is very much under attack, I cannot tell you how gratifying that feels.

Organizers of a ballot referendum to overturn HB267 announced they have gathered more than 320,000 signatures. That's more than double the number required by state law. HB267 bans public employee unions from collective bargaining, and a referendum would put a question on ballots asking Utah voters whether they think the law should be overturned or not. PBS Utah's Kelton Wells explains why it will still be a few weeks before we know if the referendum effort was successful.
