This summer, Founding Class brother Kemaria Taylor is interning at the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Education Program. Read about what Kemaria is up to:
“During my internship with the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, I’m learning about the legislative process, advocacy, civic engagement, and public policy development while researching issues that affect communities across Georgia. I’ve chosen to focus on Criminal Justice and Public Safety, and my project will involve researching the criminal justice reform and public safety system in a specific city in Georgia.

So far, I’ve really enjoyed connecting my passion for law with real-world policy work. It’s been exciting to research issues I care about and better understand how they impact local communities. At the end of the program, I’ll present my research and findings to the program’s board, giving me the opportunity to share what I’ve learned and continue developing my advocacy and public speaking skills.“

⚖️KAPI Member Monday!⚖️
Today we are hearing from Kemaria Taylor! Kemaria is a member of the 2025 KAPI founding class. Hear from Kamaria about her journey at Ole Miss and her motivations as a KAPI!
"I’m excited to share that I’ve officially joined Kappa Alpha Pi, the pre-law and government fraternity here at the University of Mississippi! Being a part of this organization means a lot to me as I continue building a strong foundation for my future in law. I’m currently a freshman majoring in Law Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice through the 3+3 program, which allows me to get a head start on law school. Since the start of the school year, I’ve been doing my best to stay involved and grow both academically and personally. I’m a proud member of the Black Student Union, UBLSA (Undergraduate Black Law Students Association), and the University of Mississippi Gospel Choir, each of these communities has helped shape my experience and keep me grounded. Joining Kappa Alpha Pi is another big step on this journey. I’m looking forward to connecting with others who are just as passionate about law, justice, and public service as I am. I’m excited for everything that’s ahead like learning, growing, and finding new ways to make an impact."
