A gathering of ideas, culture, and new perspectives. ✨✨✨ I was honoured to attend the 2nd Global Biennial Summit for African Art & Culture at New Culture Studios, Ibadan, through the kind sponsorship of @officialopeoluwa_ and @anfaani_collection . The summit sparked meaningful conversations about our roots, African identity, indigenous knowledge, and the importance of preserving our cultural heritage. As a visual artist, I believe our culture is a vital part of our identity and a legacy we must continue to express, protect, and preserve through creativity.🤞🏿 It was also a pleasure to connect with inspiring voices within the African art and cultural community, including @chrisudoh_ , @kemi70 , and @jumokesanwo . My sincere gratitude to Mr. Ope Sangosanya and Anfààni Collection for their generosity, support, and for making this valuable experience possible. 🙏🏽❤️ #globalbiennialsummit #africanartandculture #culturalheritageconservation #omoyeniarogunmati #yorubaculture #arogunmatiomoyeni

Guiding our third conversation circle is Kemi Ilesanmi, Founder and Principal of KGI Projects, with nearly thirty years spent strengthening arts ecosystems across the United States and Africa. She led The Laundromat Project from a small community initiative into an internationally recognised institution and grew its budget tenfold, which is exactly the experience The Making of Our Manilla II calls for. That conversation asks how we fund our own ecosystem without waiting for outside support, and what patronage should look like for us now. Come and lend your voice. 21–22 October 2026 · New Culture Studios, Ibadan 🔗 Tickets at globalbiennialsummit.anyeniyak.com, linked in our bio. #GBSAAC2026 #AnyenIyak #africanart #culturalheritage #ibadan

Over the past two years, Residency Re-Sourced has brought together eight artist residency spaces across Africa in a sustained process of learning, exchange, and institutional reflection. As we approach the conclusion of this cycle, we are looking back at some of the ideas, questions, and provocations that emerged from the workshop series-from vision and leadership to funding, care, operations, collaboration, and sustainability. Over the coming weeks, we will share excerpts from these conversations alongside the spaces and people that have shaped this journey. 8 Residencies. 8 African Cities. 1 Metalogue. #residencyresourced #artistresidencies #culturalInfrastructure #goetheinstitutnigeria

Ciao Ciao @venice.art.biennale 🤎. Certainly a week that lived up to Koyo Kouoh’s theme of intimacy and introspection 🙏🏾. My aperture on art was truly widened and candidly leave quite overwhelmed with the amount of art to take in and process, but a fantastic week shared with many friends 🤎. Just a fractional photo dump as you should just visit anytime between now and November 👍🏾👊🏾
