One of four Marvel Ships and Locations Cross-Sections I did for DK books.
Truly was a challenging project and admittedly a first for me, as much as I've collected Cross Section books since I was a wee lad. Really felt honored to contribute and learned a lot about how to do this type of illustration. The other artists were great and supportive, especially Kemp Remillard, who truly helped me in terms of technique and what to prioritise. Wish I could do them over as now I'd have it all done in a quarter the time with more refinement!

My favorite design in all the MCU is the Milano. The Chris Foss influenced designs of GOTG was what really got me into the whole series. So I was so bowled over when @dkbooks asked me to make the Milano spread in the new MCU cross sections book along with the Triskelion, the Red Room & the Helicarrier.  From myself and fellow artists @kemptron @rob_bhave @maxdwork & @robotsvdinosaurs_design as well as author @lizmarsham, Senior Editor David Fentiman and Senior Designer Nathan Martin at DK publishing there was a lot of love as well as blood, sweat and tears put into this book.  Thanks @penguinrandomhouse and @marvel @marvelstudios for still believing in us Humans.

Wenn Ihr gerne Details im Inneren von Häusern, Städten usw. mögt und zufällig auch Star Wars-Fans seit, ist dieses Buch ein echter Leckerbissen für alle vom lesenden Kind bis zum Erwachsenen. Dieses Buch zeigt einem so viel und man erhält Informationen über Planeten und ihre Bewohner, Gebäude, Städte, Orte, Schlachten, Raumschiffe, Armeen und Verfolgungsjagden. Von den glitzernden
Türmen Coruscants bis hin zum Innenleben eines Sternenzerstörers – das Sachbuch beleuchtet ausführlich die feinen Details jedes Schauplatzes. Während sich viele Seiten auf bestimmte Gebäude konzentrieren, decken andere ganze Regionen ab. Immer wenn eine große Schlachtszene ins Spiel kommt, wird offensichtlich die Gelegenheit genutzt, tiefere Einblicke in den Ablauf zu geben. So bietet beispielsweise die Flucht von Hoth einen deutlich größeren Rahmen und eine umfassendere Betrachtung der Ereignisse.

Dieses Werk ist ein Muss für jeden Star Wars-Fan. Mit atemberaubender Kunst, exzellentem Schreibstil und unglaublicher Liebe zum Detail wird man kaum ein Buch finden, das besser in das Star Wars-Setting eintaucht als dieses. Mats und meine Lieblingsschauplätze sind Jabbas Palast, Wolkenstadt und die Mos Eisley Cantina. Wir lieben es, einfach durch die Seiten zu blättern und zu sehen, wie herausgefunden wurde, was diese Orte über das hinaus verbergen, was wir in den Filmen gesehen haben. Allein der Aufbau der #modeisleycantina und ihre Verbindung zum Markt im Hintergrund, verleihen dieser Welt soviel mehr.

Dieses Buch sollte in keiner Star-Wars-Bibliothek
fehlen, wenn man das Star-Wars-Universum liebt!

Woo hoo! @marvel Incredible Cross-Sections has finally been announced!
Those who know me, or have ever been to one of my illustration talks, will know that the Incredible Cross-Sections series of books has been one of the biggest design inspirations in my life, ever since I picked up my first one (Castles) around age six.
This project has been the greatest honor of my professional life so far. Not only did I get to work with a fantastically talented team, including some uber-talented illustrators and the fantastic team at DK, but I also had the responsibility of bringing Marvel machines to life in this way for the very first time.
The book will be coming out in October 2025, and I plan to talk about it a lot more then. What can I say in the meantime? Probably not much, to avoid any spoilers! Only that this is certainly the furthest I've ever pushed myself creatively, out of all my comfort zones, and to the limit of what I thought I could do with @blender.official and @substance3dart .
Really excited to share more in a few months, cover artwork by the talanted @rob_bhave 🎉

This is the sequel trilogy version of the Falcon created by Kemp Remillard for the DK book release of The Force Awakens. (Apologies for the poor crop, but that's the best option that Instagram gave me) Although i'm not a fan of the ST, i think this is a lovely rendition of my favourite spaceship. Very sharp.
