In my career I’ve always worked in service of a brief, a client, a brand but for the past year I’ve had the luxury of working on a very personal project.

“The Farthest Place from New York” is a short film that juxtaposes my hometown of Perth with my former home of New York through the viewpoint of two strangers that share a magical night together.

A simple story that asks a complex question on what defines our happiness.

Follow @farthestplacefilm to see insights into the process, behind-the-scenes and screening updates of my first narrative film.

You have seen The Wire, Sopranos, Game Of Thrones and the hype around these shows have lived up to its reputation.
Sadly that was not the case for Succession in my case. I was always peaked by its build-up and angrily dissatisfied by the way it would conclude by the end of the season. Even some cliffhangers that didn’t matter in the next season. The quench was never satisfied and the erratic nature of the Succession world just wasn’t for me until the last season which was again some of the best television I’ve ever seen.
I forgot to mention Mathew Macfayden and Nicholas Braun who play Tom and Greg on the show amongst my favourites.
Industry on the other hand is a criminally underrated show to a point where I’m low key upset that it doesn’t get recognised at any reputed platforms including EMMYs. It’s no secret that it is snubbed due to its unpopular casting choices or whatever it is. Even its IMDB rating is 7.5, I simply don’t get it. I have a note full of quotations from the show and they make you pause like you would while reading good literature.
I will admit I don’t understand the critical technicalities of the show - about the stock markets and what they’re doing.
Maybe that’s why most people drop watching it. But if you have liked The Big Short, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t try this. Try this show, I promise you will not regret it.
