A few days late, but August feels like it was full of lifetimes. I know so many people struggled this past month, but here’s to a brighter future and going for your dreams! I had a blast at the Blue Whale Comedy Fest, got to see @melissavcomedy (so funny and so talented!), saw silent partners an improv group that gets a suggestion and then makes a silent movie from it, also so lots of people that I love and adore do what they love and adore. We wrapped up our last show (for now) of the Tulsa Gander huge shout out to the amazing writers and performers and special thank you to @apache_thunderwof_18 for letting me be a part of it! It was amazing to get to portray @tulsagirlpower and meet them and the other amazing guest doing good in Tulsa. I also got to experience my first performance at @blackcattulsa in one of their newest house teams “Woody”. It has been great working/learning/laughing with these goofs. Also Monty started walking! I can’t wait to have dance parties! August was stressful and hectic, but also had joy and fun so I’m thankful for it.

Today was the grand opening of the Black Cat Theatre Care in Tulsa. It is also my one year improv anniversary, so it’s fitting that I got to start my second year as an improviser performing with some of the funniest, most wonderful people that I know, once with Woody, the house team I’m on, and with The 66 Kicks. If you had told me a year ago that I would be doing improv with a professional team less than a year into it, I would probably have said, “that sounds crazy and also like something I would do”. I’ve never been able to love something and not make it my whole personality. And while my fear of improvising was (and low key is) enormous, I had an inkling after the first class that it would become an important part of my journey. (Particular love to my Woody team mates who have literally been with me since day 1 and I am pinching myself that we get to keep playing. Also, not pictured is our fantastic coach, Eric. 🖤) This community has been so lovely and welcoming and it’s such a gift that I get to be a part of it. I’m also so thrilled that I get to do it with Lisa, who is beautiful in every way and also so hilarious. I can’t imagine doing this without you. Here’s to the Black Cat and the community that Cody and Arch are creating. And here’s to year two! May it be full of laughter and silliness and joy and meaning. (Picture with the Kicks will come later, because I didn’t get any of those on my phone.)

The Coulters revived their Stella and Buck cosplay, we got a rare chunk of time with @nolando3000 at the Tulsa Gander. A genuinely EXCELLENT show with an awesome mission, and we were thrilled to be a part of it. We BOTH got to do the Matinee and Improv Night at @cmsimprovtulsa . And the kiddo has been picking up the Uke a lot lately to play some jams. Spending time with these humans is really really good for my stinky little brain.
