A journey rooted in healing. A story recognized by the academy. 🏆

We are incredibly honored to announce that The Restore Fellowship Documentary has been nominated for a Midwest Emmy® Award in Category #401: Outstanding Achievement of Documentary - Cultural 🥂

This film is more than a cinematic project; it is a movement. It follows courageous, system-impacted individuals from Chicago as they reclaim their ancestral heritage in Benin, West Africa...bridging modern reparations with deep, necessary psychological healing.

Infinite gratitude to the FELLOWS and team and who made this possible 👏🏽

What a week! Black Harvest Film Festival @filmcenter
has done a great job of highlighting independent filmmakers and it's special to have your work be selected for something that's been going on for over 30 years.

Tuesday was my film's last screening at the Festival and wow!!! The people really showed up and showed out in supporting me. The room was a mix of people I've known since elementary school and film enthusiasts that I just met a few days ago

We sold out our showtime in the process and I'm truly grateful for everyone who took the time out on a Tuesday to pull up to see the documentary! I'm also appreciative for all the messages from friends and family who let me know the show was sold out but wanted to support me in the future when another screening happens.

During the Q&A, I had to give my boy @sce_nightlife and my mom's their flowers for their belief in me over the years...went on a little story time there, but man what a fun experience to take in with everyone that made the time to come out. Much gratitude 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

Appreciation post! Much love to everyone who supported @blackisbeautiful.us last year during #Juneteenth. With tomorrow’s celebration quickly approaching, we’re bringing back the tee and tote bag to raise funds again for @freshvisiongroup and celebrate the pride, passion, and power of being Black. #BlackIsBeautiful
