2024 was the year I fell in love with theatre…
Again.

In 2023 I went through a rough patch where I felt I hadn’t worked hard enough to make college work for me, and therefore didn’t deserve to find joy in theatre anymore. Theatre has been my home since I was a young child- it’s one of the few things I’ve been consistently passionate about my entire life. To lose my love and my passion for it was devastating. I felt I was untalented in any and all aspects, that I was taking up spaces and opportunities that belonged to other people, and that I was no longer welcome.
Then, I dared to say yes when asked to help on the wardrobe crew for a production of Beauty & the Beast. I very quickly felt right back at home, and found a huge part of my joy again. This helped me make a last minute choice to actually audition for a show- something I hadn’t done since my junior year of high school. Getting into that show put such a confidence in me and showed me that I’m allowed to have fun and enjoy myself, and feel happy in a hobby that I love. I went down a very quick spiral of trying to be involved in every possible show, in any way I could- onstage and off. I rekindled my love for costuming, my long-lost love for acting, and my love for theatre in general. And now, Im starting out this year playing one of my all-time favorite characters and one of my long-time dream roles. I cannot wait to see what theatrical endeavors await in the rest of 2025, and I can’t wait to share those moments with incredible people.
I want to say thank you to @otplayhouse for fostering an environment where creativity is paramount, and artistic expression is encouraged. You brought me back, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
Thank you Kathy for continuing to help me grow and learn in the world of costumes, and for always being there to bounce ideas off of and do fun creative tasks with.
Thank you @michelle.perez.dungjen for entrusting me with costume designing Radium Girls- a show that is so powerful in our current day, and one that inspired so many talented creatives. It was an honor getting to help tell that story with you at the helm.
