a little (personal) story I feel like sharing ..💕🍅

About a year ago I got an email from a stranger (that turned into a friend & a leader miss @waianiani ) asking if Little Tomato would want to join the @northunionfarmersmarket Holiday Market. I ended up vending and had the most lovely experience.

Months pass, February rolls around, and I had just decided I’m moving to Ohio. While I wanted focus on growing Little Tomato with my move, I also wasn’t sure if I wanted to give up working in the non profit space. A few weeks pass and there pops up the perfect role- North Union is looking for Farmers Market Managers. All my the things I was interested and passionate about in one role and at an organization I already loved!

Yesterday was the last market day of the season at the UH market I managed and marked the close of my first chapter with working for North Union. It has me feeling very thankful- I feel so honored and lucky to work alongside and to help support so many local businesses and farmers- all while supporting food access to surrounding communities.

So this is your little reminder to support your local farmers, makers, + artists ..and to always be open to new chapters ahead 🤍

Closing 2025 thinking about how much has changed this year and how I continuously root back to the dreams and passions I had as a kid.

2026 is the year we all continue to dream big and honor ourselves in the process. ❤️🍅

And yes.. that is my little tomato garden back home in Ohio ❤️ Thankful to have my mom who always encouraged me to explore new hobbies and activities as a kid- including my garden girl era. ❤️

Last December ->> This December

Last year I was touring retail spaces for what was meant to be the beginning of Little Tomato, home and gift.

This December, I am building Little Tomato is a smaller way.. thoughtfully building, learning and creating as I go.

I have always been a big dreamer and never understood going small. After a few set backs and being firm in how I wanted to start and grow Little Tomato - I had to make the hard decision to take a small step forward in building rather than a mammoth jump to a retail store.

Goals evolve and may not be perfectly forward in motion. 2025 has been a year of growth and reminders that amazing things come with patience, openness, and willingness to stay curious!

Today is a special day for me, as it marks 6 months since I set up a little table in Union Square to sell my Little Tomato cards. I’m so glad I ignored that hint of fear that told me I wasn’t ready to put myself out there! 🥹

A 4ft table turned into an 8ft table..which turned into a 10ft tent..which turned into a 20ft tent which turned into a website.. which turned into wholesale.. which turned into my dreams getting achieved little by little. 🍅

Since that little card stand I done a variety of markets, custom pet portraits, expanded to over ten categories, designed over 90+ card illustrations, over 500 transactions, and hit over 5-figures in sales. Everyday is a challenge to keep creating, dreaming and crafting- with the focus of being a bit of joy and whimsy to all💕

Special thank you to my family, friends and the markets that have welcomed me and supported my Little Tomato- continuing to help me grow! 🍅🥹
