How to support local businesses on Kauai 9/18/26

Hawaii Tourism Authority asks visitors who are on island to have patience with staff, and to support open local restaurants, retail shops, and activity providers to assist in economic recovery.

Visitor spending helps sustain Kauai businesses, employees, and local families as the island recovers.

Also a reminder to Respect Local Closures &
Restricted Roads:
- Avoid entering heavily impacted communities or restricted zones (such as roads marked for “Local / Resident
Traffic Only,” including Kühio Highway past Hanalei Town).
- Do not enter affected neighborhoods to view storm damage.

Power restoration update:
-91% of power has been restored. Last night major portions of Princeville and some parts of Hanalei regained power.
-Per county of Kaua’i Wainiha & Ha’ena may not see power restoration until the end of next week.

Our island is recovering, and while some communities need time, space, and support in many ways, much of Kauaʻi is open and our local businesses need you 🙏🏼

Visiting and respecting the recovery can exist together 🤝🏽 Honor closures, give impacted areas space, follow local guidance, and consider donating or volunteering to help.

In the areas that are open, show up. Eat local. Shop small. Book local activities. Support our farmers and fishermen. Every dollar spent locally helps keep families working and our island moving forward 🌺

Supporting local empowers the people who live here to turn that support into real, actionable help for the communities and ʻohana who need it most 👏🏽

When Kaua'i is ready for visitors again, definitely stop in + get the furikake fries ✨ For your main, would recommend what the fam also ordered: Kenji burger, Hapa burger, poke bowl + Tokyo chicken wings - I was too distracted by the furikake fries to keep snapping pics though (so you know where my priorities are 🙌🏼)

Dang, I could write these fries a love song, I love + miss them so much already 😭

Kauai 🌺

My Gabs got married and her ceremony was everything I’ve ever pictured for her - island to the core. Kauai stole her heart 14 years ago and now it will hold an even greater significance. God even sent a rainbow right behind them after the ceremony ended.
There was a lot of hiking, beaches, sea sun bathers, sushi, island fruit & drinks, Caramel Anu coffees, stunning sunsets, and family time. And now the countdown is on for us, @jordanjensen23 🫶🏻 Only 8 days left! God is good 💕
