For this look I created for my eco artist project, I was given 3 yards of recycled wool from the company Manteco and challenged to use sustainable practices for my design. I wanted to create a look that felt like a tree enveloping the body. I used scrap lining to create the layered handkerchief hem and muslin scraps to create the other details. For the bodice portion, I dyed muslin using all natural dyes: beets, coffee, and spinach. For this project, I was a finalist in Manteco’s sustainability competition!!
