Easy like Sunday (All artists tagged in the lower left except for the last slide which is from my middle school aged student, Camille. We've been drawing for about a year and this is our first painting. Painting is so fun and so good.)

Easy like Sunday morning. What comes from a practice of looking at images everyday is the opportunity to observe patterns (outside and within). These patterns move in all different directions and are not linear. Patterns could be attributed to algorithms or weather or coincidence. I notice patterns in the things that draw my attention on a given morning. I separate images without thinking about why, and then, after, I look through what I set aside. (This is also similar to how I decide what images to paint. It's intuitive. I think about it later.) This morning the common qualities that emerged are: texture, a certain density of marks, a bright palette that creates the illusion of light, and the subject: outdoors. What are you looking at? What do you see?

Yes, I might delete this immediately, but look ... #cheese
