Where do I begin. An absolutely amazing day I’ll never forget. I started off really strong, up on time for the first leg then the wheels started to fall off on leg 2. Just like my first attempt in July I felt sick going up clough head. The weather conditions for the weekend were out of this world and really helped me push through to dunmail after a beautiful sunrise. Leg 3 was better, I kept food down and felt alive again. Bumping into @jacobtonk on the climb up to bowfell was a nice surprise. We met @highland_cow_in_seven_four at the bottom of lords rake and cracked on. The descent into wasdale was so much fun, that scree is sublime. Leg 4 was highs and lows. A broken spectre on red pike almost made the climb worth it, but my stomach was not playing ball. Then the stroopwaffles came out and I was alive once again. Dropping into the freezing clag we arrived at Honister and there was no way I was giving up. Now 1.5 hours behind schedule I ate what I could and started up dale head. Hindscarth and Robinson came quick enough then a very steep but thankfully grassy descent and we were on the road. It didn’t really feel like it was in the bag until I could see moot hall. All my training had led to this moment and I was finally here. I touched the door and it was a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way. To all my road support, amazing pacers and dot watchers. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Farewell Ambleside 👋😢💔

Had to explain the mark this place has had on me. Its far to say life has completely changed since I signed the letting contract to move here in 2017.

Life can often change in a fragment of time.

One minute Im walking the Fairfield Horseshoe on a snowy January day. Less than 24 hours later im holding my Dad's hand in hospital in Devon for the last time.

We may be 8 months on from that moment but the fallout continues as I clear his place in the South West (far to say a monumental challenge 😅 thanks Dad 📦📦📦).

Managing the travel, the finances, the future continues to be tricky and ive barely been spending anytime in my place in the Lakes.

Longterm, the devastating loss of my father will enable a new legacy to be built in a home of my own. A privilege that is not lost on me, but one I'd forego in a heartbeat to swap for more time in his company.

Ive been hanging on to Ambleside but its time to let go.

The memories are too many to list in an Instagram word count but relocating here has seen me learn to drive, celebrate my 1st year sober and continued milestones ever since, running a marathon around Windermere, sharing a home with my mates Ryan and then @kenny.d.block , working at the fantastic @grasmeregingerbread for 5 years (the catalyst for my move), sharing my story online, launching my debut book in @forcecafeambleside but ultimately rebuilding hope for the future and a life I had one point planned not to live.

For now life sees the next steps in my relationship with my beautiful girlfriend @lauraellenhogg still here in Cumbria (backed down eventually @shuvonshuvoff 😅). But whilst the dust still settles I'll be frequently in the South West for the short term, so good opportunity to see some friendly faces down this part of the country (Tor Foodie?).

I only thank those ive met during my time in Central Lakes, I certainly won't be a stranger and ill still be close to the fells long term.

That being said it has been more than a home to me. Not since 2016 has there been such unexpected change and turmoil in my life and I'd be lying if it doesn't leave me feeling overwhelmed, a bit broken and lost.

Frames from around 5 years ago on the summit of Crinkle Crags with @kenny.d.block & @ryan.lomas, watching what was probably the most incredible conditions i’ve seen in The Lakes.

Watching this inversion wrap around the fells and roll through the valleys was a sight I won’t forget, and one of those mornings where I just had to put the camera down and take in what I was seeing.

Surreal moment 😱 just signed my OWN book in Waterstones!!

I didn't even have to slyly sneak it to the front of the shelf this time 🤣 it was already there.

It may have been out a little while now but the feeling of pride seeing it on a bookshelf doesn't go away.

Signed copy now waiting for someone at @waterstonescarlisle

....made sure I asked before signing, didn't want to bring to resale value down 😂
