Did a thing this morning... First 5k in the books, not too shabby of a time if I may say so myself! Finished dead middle of my age group with a 25:25, 15th out of 29... Ain't purposely ran since high school until a few months ago. Had a great time with some good friends like @euds_, @k8ekidd, and @kenny_sapper. A special thanks to him for talking me into doing it and kinda being a bit of an inspiration for me with all this walking and running shit I've been doing lately! #TeamBeerknurds

✨ First SSRC Runner’s Spotlight ✨ One of our regulars, Kenny Sapper shares a little about himself!
Started running: 2018
Why I run: “I started with the idea of hiking, but then I realized running was a more accessible sport. I wanted to do more miles and get out in the world, get out of these four walls. I love the good fellowship and camaraderie of running. I love to run for those who can’t, especially my wife.”
Favorite race: “Charlotte half marathon 2019, it was my first half marathon.”
Training for: Charlotte Racefest (half marathon)
Farthest run: 16 miles
Go-to running shoe: Hoka
Favorite SS beer: Hop Helix
Random fact: “I’m from California and I’m a huge Dodgers fan!”
