POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This was one of my first photo shoots when I really started taking photography seriously. Honestly, I felt like I had bitten off more than I could chew.

I was nervous the entire time and had to keep grounding myself behind the 📸.

My friend @thistreejohn trusted me enough to let me photograph their siblings, and that meant a lot. I’ve known them for a while and have been around them several times, but this moment was different.

This was me learning how to become comfortable behind the camera and really discovering what I enjoy shooting.
What has always fascinated me is the connection between these siblings, their culture, and their last name. There is something powerful about the way they move together and represent where they come from.

They are also incredibly talented singers, writers, and musicians, and their voices carry so much depth and meaning.

I even tagged Kera’s work on this post, so please go listen and support them. They’re on all platforms, and their artistry is definitely worth tapping into.

The Ioane siblings represent something special:

I.O.A.N.E

I – Identity rooted in culture and heritage

O – Originality that stands
unapologetically in who they are

A – Ancestry honoring the strength of Samoan lineage

N – Nation representing community, family, and unity

E – Excellence in the way they live, create, and lead

Together, Callet, Deshea, Kera, and Tree represent a legacy of culture, strength, and voice that deserves to be heard.

Go tap in with them:

After 3 wonderful weeks together, my Mum left today. If you know us, you know she truly is my soulmate. I usually break down when I see her off at the airport but saying goodbye this morning was different. We both had big smiles on our faces as we waved. For me, it was from feeling a sense of peace and sheer gratitude for what's been such a memorable visit filled with love, laughs, and adventure. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who made her stay what it was. We love you. ❤️ Until next time, Mum. I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Taking a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the IOANE Foundation (@ioanefoundation) for their generous donation of $10k towards @otilamymothersjourney.

The last few months I've been hit pretty hard by life but it's gestures like this that keep me going. I appreciate your love and support in holding space for me and my mother's story and for Pasifika voices at large. Alofa tele. ❤️
