POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I had a blast last night at the @smithcenterlv in Las Vegas, taking almost 2,000 people on a dive of the Great Barrier Reef thanks to the multimedia magic of @nationalgeographiclive. 🤿🪸🌊

At almost 8 months pregnant, I’m winding down the tour with only two more shows at the @mccallumtheatre in Palm Desert, CA and at the @overturecenter in Madison, WI.

What a joy and privilege to connect with audiences all around North America and share my science and stories. Can’t wait to pick it back up after maternity leave:)

Huge thank you to @xandersensei 💙 for the incredible love and support on this adventure.

Not my usual book content, but @kerryanndunn requested/suggested I turn this clip into a reel after I shared it in my stories the other day. I’ve watched it myself a bunch of times now when I needed a moment of calm. Happy New Year! 💚

✨ Thankful Thursday ✨

November was a challenging month for many of us, and honestly, it wasn’t my best when it came to reading (possibly my worst all year?). Even so, I’m taking a moment to celebrate some bright spots from the month, in no particular order:

1️⃣ Mushroom Magic: My daughter and I made mushroom ornaments and turned them into a mini mushroom Christmas tree! We used a vase Kerry @kerryanndunn gave me as the base—how cute is it?!?! 🍄🎄

2️⃣ Bookish Joy: Two new favorites: What an Owl Knows by Jennifer Ackerman (perfect for #NonfictionNovember) and We Solve Murders by Richard Osman (I’m already eager for more in this series!). 📚🦉

3️⃣ Friendship Feels: Finally meeting Katie @katieneedsabiggerbookshelf (!!)—all the happy vibes. 🥰💫

4️⃣ Ramen Perfection: Had the BEST ramen, thanks to Cassie @allroadsleadtoausten ! This is definitely going into the repeat meal rotation. 🍜❤️

5️⃣ Family Time: So grateful for time spent with loved ones over the holiday, filled with amazing food, baby snuggles, and doggies. 🦃🍂🐾👶

6️⃣ Nature Ramblings: November walks collecting acorns, playing in the leaves, and crafting a sweet little acorn mushroom ornament that we gifted to my mom. 🍁🌰💖

7️⃣ Music Moments: My son’s holiday band concert! He plays trumpet. 🎺✨

8️⃣ Backyard Bucket List: A Barred Owl visited my yard! Such a dream come true, especially while reading about owls. 🦉🌟

9️⃣ Thanksgiving Rainbow: An absolutely epic rainbow on Thanksgiving—so magical. 🌈🍁

🔟 Roller Skating Wins: Went skating and only fell twice! 😄🛼

1️⃣1️⃣ Stone Swag: Started collecting crystals fairly recently and added several new rocks to my budding collection. ✨💎

1️⃣2️⃣ Career Progress: Made steps in the right direction on the job hunt front. Cross your fingers for me! 🤞✨

What about you? Any November highlights to share?

Happy National Read A Book Day! 🌻

This post brought to you be the letter BEE 🐝 and our last sunflower of the season.

(This little guy landed on the flower as I was snapping a book pic and he was too cute not to share.)

Both books featured are Agatha Christie’s that I have loved and read more than once. If you want to dip your toes into the Christieverse, I recommend them.

🌻Remembered Death - a.k.a. Sparkling Cyanide
🌻 The Murder of Rodger Ackroyd

QOTD: What’s your current read?

Special shoutout to @kerryanndunn for first putting this holiday on my radar today! Kerry recently also sent me the LOVELIEST gift of a set of vases - one strawberry, one mushroom. I SQUEALED!! 🍓🍄 I need to get some flowers so I can properly enjoy them. Thanks, friend. 🥰😘
