POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One year ago, I recreated @tomdelonge’s “Red Squier” and documented the research/process on YouTube so that anyone could. I need to do a follow up video at some point, as I did figure out some of the mystery sticker sources since then. 🎸🐇

Kevin was one part Huell Howser, one part Mr Rogers and two parts Beavis and Butthead…with a splash of Captain Morgan.

Last week the world lost a great human being…Kevin wasn’t just someone who lived in Bombay. Kevin was the heart and soul of Bombay. With his passing, there’s a huge void left behind in everyone’s heart that ever came across him. That’s the kind of impact he made on people and I’m thankful to have been his friend over the years. I’m gonna miss him everyday as will everyone else in this “land of misfit toys” that is Bombay Beach. It will literally never be the same without him.💔

BBAC, the Institute, and the Ski are uniting for the first time ever - to celebrate the life of Kevin Key. All who knew him, knew of him, met him briefly, or loved him deeply, all whose lives were enriched or inspired or entertained by him are invited.
💡
The celebration will begin at 5PM on Saturday, May 2 at the Ski Inn (9596 Avenue A).
💡
There will be food and drinks and we invite everyone to share their favorite stories and Kevin’isms. Around 7(ish) we will make our way down to the LiT Landing (the dock that Kevin built) for sunset, which was his favorite time of day here in Bombay Beach.
💡
It will be LiT, just as Kevin would want, so dress accordingly (💥BOOM💥)

This is a 2 year project finally completed! After recreating @tomdelonge’s “Sticker Strat” and documenting the process, I wanted to work on his guitar prior to that which doesn’t get as much love as it should. Tom’s first guitar with @blink182 was a red @fender Squier. I had only seen a few replica attempts at this, so set out to make one as accurate as possible. Here it is!

I’ve documented this process, in hopes of helping fellow blink fans learn more about the history of this guitar and build their own replica if desired! Part 1 of this research will drop tonight on the 182 News YouTube channel. Part 2 which focuses on the sticker history/placement will come ASAP. 🤘🏻🐇🎸
