I’m very late to post but wanted to share some quick moments from camp this summer 🌻 I’m so beyond grateful and honored to have been able to return to Kesem as a mental health professional. I had the opportunity to support the organization and the kids that mean so much to me and better yet, share the experience with my best friend 🫶

June is National Cancer Survivors Month, we are celebrating by standing with survivors and committing ourselves to furthering our philanthropic vision!!

Phi Rho is committed to advocating for patient care and funding research through partnership with Blood Cancer United.

This spring we further that vision by hosting cupcake wars!! 🧁⚔️
Organizations competed in a cupcake decorating competition to benefit Blood Cancer United!! Thank you to everyone who came out to help us raise money for this important cause!

The biggest thank you to our VP of Finance, Emma Muslin, who made the night such a success!

These kids! These counselors! This camp! Words cannot contain my love for @kesem_uk

The past two years have been the biggest blessing. I am beyond grateful to this organization and these campers for not only trusting me to help make this week the best week of the year, but also for giving me the warmest welcome to the Kesem family. The love, compassion, bravery, and magic I’ve witnessed with Kesem is something I’ll carry with me forever, and I’m so proud of all the incredible people who made it all possible.

This week a camper asked me: “If you could do one more year of Kesem, would you take it or give it to someone else?” Even though, I’d love to be with those kids one more year, I knew the only right answer was to let the joys and love of Kesem be shared with someone else.

These past four years have been nothing short of magic. I’ve watched campers grow, find joy, and build a community where love shows up in the smallest, most powerful ways. I’ve heard countless stories, some funny, some all too serious. I’ve made friends I may have never met otherwise. Most importantly, I’ve seen what real strength and connection looks like. I’ve seen kids comfort each other in ways no child should ever need to—but also in ways only Kesem could make possible. In truth, in all my work these past four years, I’ve only been a facilitator of all the love that this community already had to give.

I’d give anything for one more year, but I know this magic was never mine to keep. There’s no place quite like Kesem. If you’re ever given the chance to take part in this community, take it.

Thank you for everything @kesem_uk. I’ll miss you. 🦋🐛

Kesem at UKY is an organization that provides a free summer camp for children who have been impacted by a parent’s cancer and staffed almost entirely by students at the University of Kentucky. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of Kesem, even if it was just for 1 year. A child should never have to walk alone in their journey dealing with a diagnosis, we are all under the same moon and stars ❤️
