Thank you to everyone who joined us for Seagull: True Story at The Public Theater. Today marks our final performance at The Public—and our 104th show since its world premiere at La MaMa last year.

We are proud to share that the production has reached over 18,000 audience members across its runs at La MaMa @lamamaetc, Marylebone Theatre @marylebonetheatre, and The Public @publictheaterny! Your presence, energy, and generosity have meant everything to us.

We extend our endless gratitude to our extraordinary cast and crew, whose talent, dedication, and heart made this journey possible, and to our generous donors who have supported us along the way. It has been a true privilege to bring to life this story—created by Alexander Molochnikov, written by Eli Rarey, and produced by Sofia Kapkov—and to witness how deeply it has resonated.

My dear friends, today we’re wrapping up our beloved show “Seagull: True Story.” This show means so much to me, to our cast, and I hope to our audiences too. It’s been an unbelievable ride. Over the past year (from May 2025 to May 2026), we’ve performed at La MaMa, at the Marylebone Theatre in London, and now at the incredible The Public Theater. 104 shows. Still hard to believe. I keep thinking back to my days at the Moscow Art Theatre. There was a very popular show, “Number 13D,” that took five years to reach that number. Wow.
What can I say… we’re definitely tired. But at the same time, so, so, so happy. What a team we’ve built here. Honestly, it feels like family, and I know that’s going to stay with us for a long time. I’m incredibly grateful to our whole team and to our actors. I love you guys so, so much.
Huge thanks to our director Sasha @kislomolochniy, who became a very close friend and carried this show on his shoulders the entire way. And of course, to our amazing producer Sonya Kapkova @sofiakapkovofficial, who took on this massive challenge and somehow brought it all the way to where we are now.
To everyone who’s been part of this journey, thank you. As Sasha always says, we started this show in an abandoned office (we really did), and today we’re at The Public Theater. That still blows my mind.
This is simply a message of love and gratitude. And to all of you who came to see the show, you mean everything to us. Thank you so much ❤️
