MET 2026 — “FASHION IS ART”

I am not fully formed, but emerging.

Placed in a white canvas, wrapped in a cocoon not of comfort, but contradiction. A silhouette built from fragments of many worlds, asking: is this homage, or something else? Handcrafted by @falgunishanepeacock

Deeply inspired by the work Woodrow Nash @nashwoodrow and his “African Nouveau” language, where African heritage meets European influence, and the human form becomes spiritual, elongated, almost untouchable. The eyes soften, nearly disappear, shifting the focus from being seen to being felt.

This look isn’t about resolution. It’s about tension between cultures, histories, and the stories we choose to wear as art form.
