What a wild, meaningful, emotional ride ❤️

So incredibly proud of our Amor Fati team and grateful to everyone who poured their time, talent, heart, relationships, and belief into this project. From cast to crew to family and friends - this truly became a labor of love. Seeing our film nominated for Best Film Presented By Sony Pictures Entertainment and Best Writer Presented By Netflix out of the 144 films submitted as part of the 2026 Easterseals Disability Film Challenge was such an honor.

Although the trophies went to other amazing and deserving films, like many meaningful experiences, this one came with a mix of emotions: pride, gratitude, excitement, disappointment, inspiration, happiness for the winners, empathy for fellow nominees and challenge participants, and appreciation for the many incredible stories that pushed disability representation in media forward. I felt a deep sense of stewardship and responsibility to everyone investing their time, talent, and belief into this project, and I’m still unpacking all of it.

Our goal for Amor Fati was never to win an award. It was to create something we could be proud of and, more than anything, create a story with meaning and impact - one that could give voice to experiences often unseen and remind people that adversity, resilience, struggle, humor, and love are all part of the shared human experience. Hearing people connect with the film and seeing community form around our collective struggles has meant everything.

Amor Fati means love of one’s fate. Not ignoring the lows or becoming consumed by the highs, but learning to be present in the process. The acceptance and love of one’s fate does not come instantaneously - and often not easily - but through gratitude and leaning on those around us, we find ways to move through this journey together.
