Weeknight classes are usually a no for me, but come on… how was I supposed to say no to this fun-guy? Can't wait to see him all glazed up in a few weeks.

Copper, fire, folds, texture and a little happy accident magic. I made three pairs of earrings in class with Gina at Kettle Creek Pottery and one set somehow turned into three different looks depending on how you wear them.

Some of the incredible people who made my weekend at @kettle_creek_pottery so memorable.

This was my first time teaching at Kettle Creek in the Poconos, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From Amy’s warm hospitality and beautiful studio to an enthusiastic community that came ready to learn, every part of the weekend reminded me why I love teaching.

We packed two days full of wheel throwing, kiln building, glaze chemistry, and plenty of Raku firings, and I left feeling inspired by the passion and curiosity everyone brought to the workshop.

We captured the entire weekend in both photos and video, so there’s still plenty more content to share. But for now, I’m just grateful for the amazing people I had the opportunity to meet and the memories we created together.

I already can’t wait to return next year and keep the spark of this community burning.

Next stop: my week-long residency at @pocosinarts in Columbia, North Carolina. The show never stops.

Watching a raku kiln come together from scratch is its own kind of art. Nate Winters built this one (start to finish) and it’s giving me all the motivation to dive deeper into raku firing. There’s something about the DIY, hands-in-the-clay-and-the-metal spirit of pottery that gets me every time. Tag a potter who needs to see this.

What a weekend at @kettle_creek_pottery in the Poconos.

We welcomed more than 20 students for a jam-packed few days of kiln building, a deep dive into Raku glaze chemistry, wheel throwing techniques, and plenty of Raku firings exploring a variety of processes and surface results.

A huge thank you to @amymansonpottery for being such an incredible host. The energy all weekend was amazing. Every student came ready to work hard, ask great questions, and fully immerse themselves in the learning process.

One of my favorite parts was seeing people travel from all over the country to be there. We had participants joining us from Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, New Jersey, Washington, and our team made the trip down from Maine.

Workshops like this remind me how special the ceramics community is. So many passionate people coming together to learn, experiment, and share knowledge.

Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend, and I already can’t wait to come back next year.

Big thank you to @koochagian for capturing the weekend and sharing these wonderful photos! 📸

Tons of video content from the workshop coming soon.
